• Diddy reportedly attacked in prison after inmate held a knife to his throat.

One of Sean “Diddy” Combs’ close friends has spoken out about a frightening incident inside MDC Brooklyn, where the music mogul is currently serving time.

According to Charlucci Finney, Diddy woke up one night to find a knife pressed against his throat — a moment that could easily have ended in tragedy. Finney told Daily Mail that he isn’t sure whether guards intervened or if Diddy managed to fend off the attacker himself, but confirmed it was a very close call.

Sources familiar with the situation also verified the account to TMZ, describing it as a targeted intimidation attempt against Diddy. Finney said he believes the motive was to scare him, adding that prison is especially dangerous for inmates with sex-related convictions.

During Diddy’s sentencing, his lawyer Brian Steel mentioned the same incident, stating that a guard stopped the inmate before any serious harm was done.

Diddy is currently serving a 50-month federal prison sentence after being convicted on two counts of violating the Mann Act, which involves the transportation of individuals across state lines for unlawful purposes. He was, however, acquitted of sex trafficking and racketeering charges.

Meanwhile, reports claim that former U.S. President Donald Trump is considering pardoning Diddy — though the White House Communications Office has denied those claims, TMZ insists their sources stand by the story.

Prison consultant Sam Mangel, who spoke on TMZ Live, said Diddy’s next prison is expected to be less violent than MDC Brooklyn. Still, he warned that incidents like this show why the rapper must remain alert.

For now, Diddy’s safety remains a concern among his inner circle, with Finney describing the experience as “terrifying” and a stark reminder of how quickly things can turn inside prison walls.

  • Tragedy as Dangote truck crushes pregnant woman, child, six others in Ondo.

A pregnant woman, mother and her child on Wednesday night lost their lives alongside six others in a fatal road crash that occurred in the university community of Akungba-Akoko, Akoko South-West Local Government Area of Ondo State involving a cement-laden truck.

The horrifying accident occurred around 8:00 pm, a few metres from the main gate of Adekunle Ajasin University, Akungba-Akoko (AAUA), and the popular Holy Trinity Church.

The articulated truck, which was in transit through the community from Obajana in Kogi State and allegedly belonging to Dangote Cement, had allegedly suffered brake failure before ramming into traders and other road users in the densely populated area of the community.

Infuriated by the incident, enraged sympathisers blamed that accident on the removal of the barricade earlier mounted to prevent articulated vehicles from accessing the community.

The sympathisers, who thronged the accident scene, lamented that the tragedy has brought back painful memories of previous accidents in the area, which have claimed many lives over the years.

According to one of the sources, “Some boys in the community had been using the barricade erected to extort N10,000 from the truck drivers before allowing them to pass through. The government turned blind eyes.”

While confirming the incident, the Sector Commander of the Federal Road Safety Corps in the state, Ibitoye, stated eight people lost their lives in the accident.

He said, “The deceased persons include five males, two females and one child. The truck ran into a barricade in front of Adekunle Ajasin University, Akungba Akoko, and lost control, resulting in the crash.”

  • Father of Late Bilyaminu Bello Reveals He Pleaded with President Tinubu to Pardon Maryam Sanda.

The biological father of the late Bilyaminu Bello, Alhaji Ahmed Bello Isa, has expressed his support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s decision to grant presidential pardon to his daughter-in-law, Maryam Sanda, who was convicted for the murder of her husband in 2017.

Speaking during a joint interview in Abuja with Maryam’s father, Alhaji Garba Sanda, Alhaji Bello disclosed that he had personally appealed to President Tinubu for clemency, saying his request was driven by humanitarian reasons and compassion for his two grandchildren.

According to him, executing Maryam would not bring back his son but would only deepen the tragedy by leaving the children without parental care.

“As a devout Muslim, I accepted the tragic event as the will of Allah. I have forgiven Maryam for what happened,” he said. “Before the end of the trial, I appealed to both the police and the court to drop the case because I did not want my grandchildren to lose their mother after losing their father. If she were executed, who would raise them with love?”

Reacting to reports that some members of the family opposed the pardon, he maintained that everyone is entitled to their opinion but emphasized that, as the biological father, he has fully forgiven Maryam.

On his part, Alhaji Garba Sanda, Maryam’s father, expressed profound gratitude to Alhaji Bello and his family for their extraordinary show of forgiveness, describing it as “a true act of faith and humanity.”

“Words cannot express how grateful we are for this gesture of mercy and reconciliation. We pray that healing continues for both families and that the children grow up surrounded by love and peace,” he said.

Both families reaffirmed their decision to embrace forgiveness, compassion, and unity, pledging to work together to raise the late Bilyaminu’s children in an environment of peace and love.

  • Abduction of 276 Chibok Girls Remain Indelible Scar on My Presidency — Jonathan.

Former President Goodluck Jonathan has admitted that the 2014 abduction of the Chibok schoolgirls will forever remain a scar on his presidency.

He made the remark on Friday at the presentation of SCARS: Nigeria’s Journey and the Boko Haram Conundrum, a memoir by former Chief of Defence Staff, General Lucky Irabor. Commending Irabor, Jonathan described him as “a soldier who stood for truth and never played politics with security.”

Reflecting on his tenure, Jonathan said, “One of the major scars on my government is the Chibok Girls. As Bishop Kukah said, no plastic or cosmetic surgeon can remove it. It is a scar I will die with.”

The kidnapping of 276 girls from Government Secondary School, Chibok, Borno State, triggered global outrage and birthed the #BringBackOurGirls campaign. Although some of the girls escaped or were freed, more than 80 remain unaccounted for.

Survivors still struggle with stigma, trauma, and interrupted education, with some returning home with children born in captivity.

Jonathan noted that Boko Haram’s activities, which began in 2009, worsened during his presidency. “I battled Boko Haram for five years as President. I thought Buhari would wipe them out quickly, but they remain. Sometimes they even had more munitions than our soldiers — that does not reflect the actions of hungry villagers,” he said.

While his administration was heavily criticised for its response to the tragedy, Jonathan defended his silence at the time, saying it was aimed at protecting sensitive intelligence. He insisted that the insurgency was more complex than many assumed and called for a renewed approach, stressing that the “carrot and stick” method might be necessary.

Over a decade later, successive governments have rescued or negotiated the release of about 189 girls, but dozens are still in captivity. The Federal Government maintains that freeing the remaining Chibok girls and Leah Sharibu remains a national priority.

  • Edo NSCDC Commandant Slumps and Dies During Event in Benin.

Tragedy struck on Thursday in Benin City as the Edo State Commandant of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Agun Gbenga, suddenly slumped and died while attending a public function.

Gbenga had just finished delivering a goodwill message at a programme organised by the International Association of World Peace Advocates at the Bishop Kelly Pastoral Centre when he collapsed on his seat.

Attempts to revive him at the venue proved unsuccessful before he was rushed to the Military Hospital in Benin, where doctors confirmed him dead on arrival.

Eyewitnesses at the event described the development as shocking, noting that the commandant had walked into the venue looking healthy.

One attendee, Odion Ugbe, recounted that Gbenga appeared full of life only moments before tragedy struck. “He had just read his speech and was sitting down when he slumped. Medical personnel tried to resuscitate him, but it was too late,” Ugbe said, adding that the late commandant was a gentleman dedicated to national service.

Confirming the incident, NSCDC spokesperson Afolabi Babawale said, “Yes, it is true that we lost the Edo State Commandant this afternoon. He slumped during a function.”

The sudden death left guests at the event in shock, with many still struggling to come to terms with the loss of the senior security officer.

  • Accident: These Yahoo Yahoo boys do not care about another person on the road - Abdullahi Usman.

According to a report by the Punch on Wednesday, October 1, 2025, a devastating accident in Edo State has claimed three lives, highlighting ongoing road safety issues in southwestern Nigeria. The incident occurred Monday night near the Ogba River bridge in Oredo Local Government Area, where an SUV driver allegedly lost control and collided with a commercial motorcycle, killing the rider and both passengers instantly.

The tragedy sparked immediate protests from fellow commercial motorcycle operators, who expressed frustration over what they describe as reckless driving by certain motorists. One protester, Abdullahi Usman, voiced the community's anger, stating, "These Yahoo Yahoo boys do not care about another person on the road. The accident was very severe." The protesters specifically accused internet fraudsters of habitual dangerous driving.

In a separate incident on the same day, six people narrowly escaped serious injury in a collision along the Abeokuta-Sagamu Expressway in Ogun State. The accident involved two vehicles, with preliminary reports indicating that a Lexus driver oversped before crashing into a Toyota Avensis from behind. Fortunately, all six adult males involved emerged without fatal injuries.

Authorities in both states have launched investigations into the respective incidents. The Edo State Police Command confirmed the fatal accident and assured the public that those responsible would be held accountable. Meanwhile, traffic officials in Ogun State quickly cleared the wreckage from the highway to prevent traffic congestion.

These incidents underscore persistent concerns about speeding and reckless driving on Nigerian roads. The accidents occurred despite recent warnings from the Federal Road Safety Corps about the dangers of excessive speed, particularly along major highways like the Abeokuta-Sagamu Expressway where similar fatal crashes have been reported in recent months.

  • DSS Director-General Ajayi Places ₦20million Bounty, Detains 16 Officers Over Promotion Exam Scandal Exposed.

According to insider sources, the scandal involved allegations of widespread malpractice and manipulation of the agency’s internal promotion exams.

The Director-General of the Department of State Services (DSS), Mr Adeola Oluwatosin Ajayi, has reportedly placed a ₦20million bounty and ordered the detention of 16 DSS officers following revelations surrounding a promotion examination scandal exposed by SaharaReporters.

According to insider sources, the scandal involved allegations of widespread malpractice and manipulation of the agency’s internal promotion exams.

The exposé detailed how senior officers colluded to inflate scores, favour preferred candidates, and undermine the integrity of the process, sparking outrage both within and outside the Service.

"His main focus is to find those officers in the DSS leaking the infractions to SaharaReporters. He even sent a senior DSS officer to reach out to people he felt were close to human rights activist, Omoyele Sowore, last week," a top source informed this newspaper on Saturday.

On September 8 that operatives of the Department of State Services (DSS) expressed outrage over what they described as the "inhumane and chaotic conditions" that characterised the agency’s recent promotion examination exercise, which reportedly led to the death of eight officers.

The tragedy occurred as many personnel were forced to fund their own travel and accommodation for the exams, with no financial support from the agency.

The situation, sources had said, created extreme hardship and anxiety, ultimately costing the lives of officers who collapsed or fell ill while struggling to meet the demands of the process.
