• All Eyes on Akinwunmi Ambode.

Politics, in Lagos, rarely forgets, only circling back when the timing feels right. And now, after years of studied silence, Akinwunmi Ambode’s name is again spoken in the open with chants, banners, and renewed conviction that the former governor might find his way back to the seat he once lost.

At a recent gathering in Lagos, the Tinubu-Ambo Support Group, a coalition of political loyalists, pledged allegiance to two men: President Bola Tinubu and Ambode. Their mission was clear: mobilise voters ahead of the 2027 elections, stir the political base, and remind citizens that loyalty, when revived, can reshape the future.

Dr. Seyi Bamigbade, the group’s director-general, described it as a movement to “reawaken civic consciousness” and restore continuity between Tinubu’s national reform and Ambode’s Lagos vision. Their call echoed across markets and youth halls: get your PVCs, prepare for 2027, let Lagos move again.

Yet beneath the cheers lies the hum of unfinished history.

Ambode’s story is one of brilliance and breach. His four-year term (2015–2019) delivered roads, transport networks, and fiscal growth, but also alienated party powerbrokers. In 2018, when Tinubu withdrew his support, the empire shifted. Ambode lost the APC ticket to Babajide Sanwo-Olu, ending his bid for re-election and ushering in years of quiet withdrawal.

Now, his name returns, attached to Tinubu’s own. The pairing, once improbable, now feels strategic. For some, it signals reconciliation; for others, a test of Lagos’s political memory. Can ambition and loyalty coexist, or does one always exact a price from the other?

Ambode himself has remained silent, as if watching from a measured distance. But Lagos remembers. And in the whispering corners of its politics, where godfathers and foot soldiers meet, the question grows louder: if the city offers him a second dance, will he take it?

Obasa made the comment at the weekend during the launch of ‘Tinubu 2027’ in Ojokoro LCDA, Lagos, where residents reaffirmed support for the president’s re-election bid.

The event, held at the local government playing ground, attracted politicians, traditional rulers, and socio-cultural leaders.

“Let’s play our parts by being available to our people and by drawing them closer. If we do this, I am sure the election will be a walkover for APC and President Bola Tinubu come 2027.”

Emmanuel Olotu, coordinator of the initiative and lawmaker representing Ifako-Ijaiye constituency II, said the campaign was designed to show that Ojokoro remains a stronghold of the president.

  • Ohanaeze President Calls for Nnamdi Kanu’s Release, Urges Igbos to Register to Vote

Senator John Azuta-Mbata, President General of Ohanaeze Ndigbo Worldwide, has appealed to the Federal Government to release the detained leader of the proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Nnamdi Kanu, to allow him access to proper medical care.

In a video message shared on Thursday, Azuta-Mbata also urged Igbos across Nigeria to actively participate in the ongoing voter registration exercise and obtain their Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs).

Azuta-Mbata emphasized that Kanu’s prolonged detention has been a major source of political and security tension in Nigeria. Kanu was initially arrested in 2015 on charges of treasonable felony, jumped bail in 2017, and fled the country. He was rearrested in Kenya in June 2021 during a controversial operation by Nigerian security operatives and has since been held by the Department of State Services (DSS).

Calling for a political resolution, Azuta-Mbata stated that the Federal Government gains no advantage from continuing Kanu’s detention. He stressed the importance of safeguarding Kanu’s welfare and providing him with medical attention.

    He said,

“I’m calling upon Ndigbo—wherever you are in Nigeria—to take advantage of the voter registration exercise going on now. Go and get your PVCs as quickly as possible.

“Secondly, I urge the Federal Government to release Nnamdi Kanu. There is no real advantage in keeping him detained. The government must ensure his safety and allow him to receive medical treatment promptly. A political solution should be pursued, as continued detention serves no meaningful purpose.”

Azuta-Mbata’s remarks underscore the ongoing calls for a resolution to one of Nigeria’s most contentious political issues while encouraging civic engagement among Igbos ahead of upcoming elections.

  • Content creators observe as Senate urges Nigerians to Return to Farm and Solve Hunger Problem.

The Chairman of the Senate Committee on Industry, Senator Francis Fadahunsi, has called on Nigerians to embrace farming in order to tackle the hunger cr+sis currently facing the nation.

Speaking with journalists in Ilase-Ijesa, Osun State, on Tuesday, the Osun East lawmaker urged citizens to return to agriculture and produce food in large quantities. He maintained that food sufficiency would ease the pressure of hardship on families.

Commending President Bola Tinubu for adopting some of the recommendations given to him on poverty reduction, Fadahunsi expressed optimism that Nigerians would experience relief before the year runs out. “I am farming. Everybody should farm. If there is no hunger, automatically, we will be thinking right.

The development is coming. What I have seen in the National Assemblies is real, and so on. “Automatically, before the end of this year, things will go down.os

Just recently, when we went for the NEC meeting, President Tinubu advised the governors to go deep into the local areas and invest more. That’s an executive order, and I am very sure any Governor that does not do that will lose his credibility because of the quantum of money being allocated to them,” Fadahunsi said.

He further appealed to Nigerians of voting age to take part in the ongoing Continuous Voters Registration (CVR) exercise, stressing that active participation is key to inclusive governance. “I have personally gone around to ensure that stakeholders who will facilitate the process are actively on board.

Particularly, reaching the Kings, custodians of cultural heritage, and community leaders. “We are urging people in the community to register. Including the longtime settlers in our environment, the Hausa farmers, Fulani herdsmen, and the Igedes. They all must register and get an email PVC,” he added.

  • News Brief: INEC Clarifies PVC Collection Process

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has said that Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) cannot be printed or collected outside its offices, even after online pre-registration in the ongoing Continuous Voter Registration (CVR) exercise.

He stressed that the measure is aimed at protecting the integrity of the voter register and preventing manipulation or duplication.

Lawrence added that INEC is working with the National Identity Management Commission (NIMC) to integrate data from the national identity database into future registration exercises.

He also noted that voters without internet access can register physically at INEC local government offices, while those with damaged cards can apply for replacements through the commission’s portal.

  • PVC Is the Voice of the Voiceless” — Peter Obi Urges Nigerians to Secure Their Voter Cards

Former Labour Party presidential candidate, Peter Obi, has ignited conversations online after urging Nigerians to collect their Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) ahead of future elections.

In a powerful statement via his official X (formerly Twitter) handle, Obi described the PVC as the “weapon of the poor” and the most effective tool citizens possess to challenge injustice and bad governance.

He cautioned Nigerians, especially the youth, against selling their votes, stressing that doing so is equivalent to selling their future:
“When you sell your vote, you’re not just selling an election; you’re selling schools for your children, hospitals for your loved ones, and jobs that give dignity and hope.”

Obi further urged voters to elect leaders with competence, character, capacity, and compassion, while resisting intimidation, deception, or financial inducements during elections.

His post quickly went viral, sparking widespread reactions, with many Nigerians praising his consistent advocacy for democracy and good governance. Supporters also highlighted the urgent need for grassroots voter education and mobilization.
