The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has adopted the SMS short code for accepting/rejecting admission offers. Unlike before, the accept/reject button has been erased from the CAPS portal. Only candidates who have access to the phone numbers would be able to benefit from this system. It's unclear whether there will be an alternative or a seamless way of changing phone numbers. Until then, keep in touch. Inform others.

Upon admission, you need to send "JAMB REGISTRATION NUMBER + SPACE + ACCEPT/REJECT" to 55019 using the phone number you linked to jamb

A chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Bode George, has warned President Bola Tinubu against actions that could trigger a military takeover in Nigeria.


George gave the warning while speaking to journalists on Monday after being blocked by police officers from entering the PDP National Secretariat in Abuja.

POLITICS NIGERIA reports that security lockdown disrupted the party’s scheduled National Executive Committee (NEC) and Board of Trustees (BoT) meetings.

“It’s strikingly annoying. This is our property. Was there any court order to say we will not hold our meeting in our office? What is going on? I was a young man in 1962 when it all started in the South West. We must avoid that madness. What is it? Can’t we sit and talk? What is the essence of democracy?” George said.

The PDP leader referenced the 1962 Western Region crisis, where internal party conflicts led to the declaration of a state of emergency and a federal government takeover of the Western Region—an event that marked the beginning of political instability in the country.

“Nigerians are watching, you came to our office, surrounded by police because we want to have a meeting? You want to turn us to North Korea or turn this country to Russia? We will not allow it, Nigerians will not allow it,” he added.

Monday morning saw a heavy police presence at the PDP headquarters in Wadata Plaza, Abuja. Officers barricaded the entrance and prevented party leaders, staff, and BoT members from accessing the NEC hall.

The PDP later relocated its BoT meeting to an alternative venue.

NAPTIP Raises Alarm Over B@by-S+lling Syndicates in Anambra.

The National Agency for the Prohibition of Tr@fficking in Persons (NAPTIP) has raised concern over a dist¥rbing rise in cases of baby tr@ff+cking in Anambra State, with youths reportedly engaging in consens¥al relationships solely to produce babies for sale.

This was disclosed by the Anambra State Commander of NAPTIP, Ibadin Judith-Chukwu, during a press briefing on Saturday in Awka. She said human tr@ff+cking is taking on increasingly alarming forms in the state, especially in rural areas.

According to her, “We have seen cases where a girl becomes pregnant, and a man suddenly appears with a marriage proposal. After delivery, the child is taken & sold—often without the mother’s consent.” Judith-Chukwu described the trend as deeply troubling, highlighting that it is most common in remote communities.

She stressed the urgent need for public education & awareness, particularly in these areas to counter the deceptive tactics employed by tr@ff+ckers.

She noted that NAPTIP, through the Anambra State Task Force on Human Tr@ff+cking established in 2020, has launched multiple sensitisation campaigns aimed at curbing the menace.

“Our task force is active and tailored to address state-specific tr@fficking issues. We’ve been engaging communities, religious institutions, and law enforcement agencies to spread the message far and wide,” she said.

The NAPTIP commander also urged traditional rulers, clergy, and community leaders to take a stand against what she described as “an organised cr+me”, and revealed plans to intensify awareness campaigns during the upcoming August meeting—a major gathering of women in the Southeast.

Popular gospel singer Israel Terhemba Ikyereve, known by his stage name New Jerusalem, is dead.
He passed away at the age of 53.

News of his death has sparked widespread mourning across Benue State, particularly within the Christian community, where he was revered for transforming Tiv Swange music into a powerful medium for spreading the gospel.

Former Governor of Benue State, Chief Samuel Ortom, led tributes to the late gospel icon during a condolence visit to his residence in Makurdi. Accompanied by members of the Brethren Prayer Group, Ortom described Ikyereve as a devoted Christian whose music resonated far beyond Nigeria’s borders.

“His songs touched my heart as a lover of Christ,” Ortom said. “That attraction led me to seek a personal relationship with him, which began a lasting bond with his family.”

The former governor recounted witnessing the late singer’s music featured in an international programme in Australia, where a Tiv man was teaching music while New Jerusalem’s songs played in the background.

According to Ortom, this was a clear testament to the global impact of Ikyereve’s gospel ministry.

He offered prayers for the bereaved family and pledged his continued support to them and the New Jerusalem Gospel Music Troupe, promising not to abandon them after the burial.

Speaking on behalf of the family, Hon. Iorshagher Ikyereve, the elder brother of the deceased, expressed heartfelt gratitude to Ortom for his unwavering support throughout the late singer’s illness and beyond.

He also disclosed that one of Israel’s sons was named “Ortom” in honour of the former governor’s compassionate involvement in their lives.

Prayers were also led by Rev. Pastor Tor Ujah and Dr Joseph Antyo, both leaders of the Brethren Prayer Group.

The late gospel artist is survived by his wife, fellow gospel singer Deborah Msendoo Ikyereve, four children, and several relatives.

His burial is scheduled for Saturday, July 5, 2025, at Sati Agirigi, Mbamo, Shitile, in Katsina-Ala Local Government Area of Benue State.

Youths from the Yaikyo area of Makurdi, Benue State capital, have apprehended a notorious criminal identified as Anini at a local supermarket in the state capital.

The suspect was caught on the night of Thursday, June 26, 2025, during a heavy downpour at Agbatse Supermarket, located behind Jesical Filling Station in the Yaiko axis of Makurdi.

The arrest was executed by the Yaikyo community security team, led by youth leader Mr. Frank Igbakua.

Immediately after his arrest, the suspect was handed over to Operation Zenda, a special unit of the Nigeria Police Force, for further investigation and prosecution.

IRAN TRIED TO HIDE IT'S NUCLEAR SCIENTIST IN A SAFE LOCATION, BUT ISRAEL STILL FOUND AND KILLED HIM.

According to Times of Israel, an Israeli drone strike targeted an apartment building in Tehran’s Gisha neighborhood on Friday, killing an Iranian scientist specializing in weaponry, according to reports from The Wall Street Journal and Israeli public broadcaster Kan.

The scientist was reportedly being kept in a safe house outside his home in an effort to protect him from Israeli attacks. This strike is part of Israel’s ongoing campaign, dubbed Operation Rising Lion, aimed at crippling Iran’s nuclear and missile programs.

Since launching the operation last Friday, Israel has reportedly assassinated at least a dozen leading Iranian nuclear scientists and targeted numerous military and nuclear facilities.

Defense Minister Israel Katz announced an intensification of strikes on regime symbols in Tehran, including the Basij militia and the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, with the goal of destabilizing the Iranian government.

The strike on the scientist’s hiding place underscores Israel’s focus on eliminating key figures in Iran’s weapons development. Iranian state media confirmed the drone attack on the residential building but did not provide details on casualties.

Meanwhile, Iran has responded with missile and drone attacks on Israeli cities, including Beersheba, causing casualties and damage.

In addition to the strike on the scientist, Israeli airstrikes have damaged Iran’s Internal Security headquarters and other military sites, including the Organization of Defensive Innovation and Research complex, a critical part of Iran’s nuclear program.

The International Atomic Energy Agency reported damage to key buildings at Iran’s Arak heavy water research site.

Despite the violence, thousands of Iranians protested in Tehran after Friday prayers, denouncing Israel and the United States.

The conflict has resulted in hundreds of deaths on both sides and shows no signs of abating as Israel continues its campaign to prevent Iran from developing nuclear weapons.
