  • The Silence of Religious Leaders in Nigeria Amid Corruption, Oppression, and Terrorism: A Call for Unified Prayers This Christmas Season

In a powerful opinion piece, M. Musa highlights the troubling silence of religious leaders—both Christian pastors and Muslim imams—during Nigeria’s ongoing crises of corruption, oppression, and terrorism. Once vocal during political campaigns, many clerics have now become silent, prioritizing personal gain or political access over moral responsibility. Musa calls for accountability and challenges Nigerians to demand fearless prayers against injustice in every mosque and church during Christmas celebrations. He emphasizes that faith should not serve power, and religion must uphold truth rather than politics. The piece urges citizens to act if spiritual leaders refuse to denounce corruption openly, framing silence as complicity. Musa’s message resonates across faiths, stressing that both Christians and Muslims can unite under one God to confront societal ills, with prayer serving as a form of moral resistance. Ultimately, the article is a call to action for the masses to reclaim moral authority and demand integrity from religious institutions in Nigeria.

A fearless man identified as Scorpion Breeder has gone viral after sharing a video of his scorpion farm, where he breeds and milks scorpions for their venom, considered the most expensive liquid in the world.
Valued at about ₦30 billion per gallon, the venom is prized in medicine for its potential to treat diseases like malaria and detect brain tumors.
His calmness among the deadly creatures shocked many viewers online.

A fearless man has gone viral after showing off his unique business a scorpion farm where he breeds and milks the deadly creatures for their venom.

In the TikTok video, the man, identified as Scorpion Breeder, was seen walking calmly among hundreds of scorpions inside a large enclosure. He fearlessly picked them up and demonstrated how their venom is extracted, leaving viewers both shocked and fascinated.

According to Encyclopedia Britannica, “scorpion venom is the most expensive liquid on Earth,” valued at about ₦30 billion per gallon (around $39 million). However, “a single scorpion must be milked over 2.6 million times to produce just one gallon of venom.”

Experts say the venom is valuable for its medical uses, including “detecting brain tumors, treating malaria, and developing painkillers.”

The clip drew mixed reactions online while some praised his bravery, others admitted they couldn’t imagine being in the same room with a scorpion.

  • Popular Activist Abiodun Aremu killed by Hit-and-Run Driver.

Prominent Nigerian activist and secretary of the Joint Action Front (JAF), Comrade Abiodun Aremu, has died following a hit-and-run accident in Ota, Ogun State. He was 65.

The tragic incident occurred on Sunday evening when the veteran pro-labour campaigner was struck by an unidentified driver while crossing the road around 6:00 p.m. Eyewitnesses said the driver fled the scene immediately, leaving Aremu critically injured.

He was rushed to a nearby hospital where doctors battled to save his life, but he was pronounced dead shortly after despite attempts to revive him with oxygen.

Confirming his passing, Owei Lakemfa, former Secretary-General of the Organisation of African Trade Union Unity and ex-acting General Secretary of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC), described Aremu’s death as a huge loss to the labour movement.

Lakemfa, speaking on behalf of the Nigeria Labour Movement, said the late activist “joined the pantheon of revolutionaries” on Sunday, October 12, 2025.

He described Aremu as “one of the greatest revolutionaries and internationalists of our time,” adding that his contributions to workers’ rights, democracy, and social justice in Nigeria would never be forgotten.

According to Lakemfa, Aremu will now be laid to rest on Thursday, October 23, 2025, at his residence located at No. 30, Kabiru Fatoye Street, Opposite Alaka Field, Ijako Sugar Bus Stop, Ifo Road, along the Lagos–Abeokuta Expressway.

He explained that the burial date, originally scheduled for October 13, was shifted to allow adequate time for mobilisation of comrades, labour leaders, and civil society groups who wish to pay their final respects.

“The greatest honour we can give our fearless teacher and leader is to continue in his footsteps and build a world founded on social justice,” Lakemfa said.

  • 23-year-old American Climber, Balin Miller, Dies while climbing a 3000-foot granite wall in Yosemite National Park.

American climber Balin Miller has d+ed at the age of 23 while attempting a climb in Yosemite National Park, his family confirmed on Thursday.

Miller was on El Capitan, the park’s iconic 3,000-foot granite wall immortalized by Alex Honnold’s Free Solo, when the fatal accident occurred during his ascent of the “Sea of Dreams” route. His mother, Jeanine Moorman, announced the news in a post on the website of VIRR, the family’s outdoor goods company.

“This is unthinkable,” she wrote. “At this time, we do not yet know all the details. What we do know is that the world has lost an extraordinary soul, and our hearts are shattered.”

Moorman remembered her son as a free spirit with “a touch of Robin Williams’ wild energy,” describing him as curious, strategic, and endlessly playful.

Born into a family that embraced the outdoors, Miller was introduced to climbing by his father in the mountains of Alaska and grew into a fearless adventurer who scaled cliffs and ranges around the world.

Living a nomadic lifestyle, often out of his silver Prius, he pieced together a shoestring income to fund his passion. “Balin was full of life, a true wild card at heart,” his mother wrote.

A beloved figure in the climbing community, Miller became popular for his TikTok livestreams and was affectionately nicknamed the “orange tent guy” for his bright gear. His distinctive glitter makeup also drew attention; he once compared it to “a warrior putting makeup on before going into battle,” in an interview with Climbing magazine earlier this year.

In June, he achieved what is believed to be the first solo climb of the Slovak Direct route on Denali (Mount McKinley), North America’s tallest peak. He had only recently returned from an ice and alpine expedition in Alaska and had long dreamed of conquering a Yosemite lead.

His death coincided with the first day of the U.S. federal government shutdown, a development that left many national parks at risk of closure or reduced services.

  • Doja Cat Stuns at 2025 VMAs, Bites Into ‘Lipstick’ to Announce MAC Deal

Doja Cat once again proved she knows how to own the spotlight at the MTV VMAs on Sunday, September 7, 2025.

The singer turned heads in a striking off-the-shoulder mini dress—a pale yellow and baby blue checkered number accented with pink crystal embellishments. She paired the daring look with butter-yellow sky-high heels and a sparkling $6,000 crystal lipstick-shaped purse by Judith Leiber.

But it wasn’t just her outfit that had people talking. Doja completed her glam with blonde voluminous waves, bold pink earrings, and a swipe of red lipstick—before pulling out the lipstick from her clutch and biting it.

To the shock of many, it wasn’t real makeup at all. It was a chocolate creation by pastry chef Amaury Guicho, and the stunt doubled as the reveal that Doja Cat is officially MAC Cosmetics’ newest global ambassador.

“I’ve been a MAC girl forever, and now I get to take that love to the global stage,” Doja shared. “Makeup is my paint, my armor, my way of creating characters — and MAC has always stood for that kind of artistry and freedom. Together, we’re going to push boundaries and make people see beauty in a whole new way.”

MAC’s global creative director, Nicola Formichetti, praised Doja’s fearless style, while global GM Aïda Moudachirou-Rebois added: “Not only is Doja one of the most exciting voices of her generation, but her artistry and fearless spirit make her the perfect MAC partner.”

Doja later posted her VMAs look to Instagram, keeping it simple with a caption

  • Femi Kuti Reveals Happiest Day of His Life Was Moving in With Fela

Afrobeat legend Femi Kuti has shared a deeply personal moment from his childhood, describing the happiest day of his life as the day he left his mother to live with his father, the late Afrobeat pioneer, Fela Anikulapo Kuti.

Speaking in a recent YouTube interview, the Grammy-nominated musician revealed:

“I ran away from my mother to stay with my father. It was probably the happiest day of my life.”

Femi also reflected on the pressure he faced growing up as the son of Fela, with many people expecting him to adopt his father’s personality, style, and rebellious lifestyle. At some point, admirers even encouraged him to dress like his father.

However, Femi stressed that he was never interested in becoming a replica of the late music icon, saying that his life’s path was divinely guided:

“If God wanted me to become Fela, I would have been Fela.”

Fela Kuti, who passed away in 1997, was not only a revolutionary Afrobeat musician but also a fearless critic of Nigeria’s political establishment. His activism led to multiple arrests, but his music cemented his global legacy.

In recognition of his influence, Fela’s 1976 classic album Zombie was inducted into the Grammy Hall of Fame in 2025 — decades after its release.

  • Big Brother Drama: Sultana Shocks Viewers with Bold Confession About Jason

The tension in Biggie’s house just hit a new level after Sultana dropped one of the most daring statements of the season. During a late-night garden chat with Jason, she revealed that she wouldn’t mind sharing him with other women — comparing the idea to the life of a northern wife in a polygamous marriage.

The revelation came as the duo discussed Jason’s budding entanglement with Dede, a storyline already fueling gossip among housemates and fans. Rather than showing jealousy, Sultana playfully embraced the situation, joking that she could simply “wait for her turn” after Jason visited his “other wives.” Her humor and confidence had Jason laughing, but it was clear her message carried real weight.

As the conversation deepened, Sultana openly admitted her attraction to Jason and hinted that she wouldn’t mind getting intimate with him — though not while inside the house. This bold confession not only turned heads but also cemented her role as a key player in the season’s first major love triangle.

For Jason, the situation just got more complicated. With Dede’s feelings already in the open and Sultana’s fearless confession, he now faces mounting pressure that could spark one of the season’s biggest relationship storms.

Online, fans are split — some admire Sultana’s playful confidence, while others are stunned by her willingness to embrace “competition.” Whether this move pulls Jason closer to her or drives him further toward Dede remains uncertain, but one thing is clear: Sultana has mastered the art of turning potential jealousy into power.

  • EFCC Now Operates Like A Department Of The APC, Targeting Oppositions ADC.

The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has accused the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) of turning the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) into a political weapon against opposition politicians.
‘EFCC Now Operates Like A Department Of The APC, Targeting Oppositions – ADC
ADC National Publicity Secretary, Bolaji Abdullahi
In a statement on Monday, the ADC’s National Publicity Secretary, Mallam Bolaji Abdullahi, alleged that the EFCC’s recent actions, including reopening old cases and summoning opposition members, were politically motivated.

“The EFCC was created to be a fearless defender of the Nigerian people’s trust, applying the law evenly to all, friend or foe, ruling party or opposition. Today, that vision appears to have been compromised,” Abdullahi said.

The ADC claimed that the anti-graft agency had abandoned impartiality and now functioned like “a department of the APC, deployed to fight government critics and opposition figures.”

It also accused the EFCC of dropping investigations involving APC allies while relentlessly pursuing opposition leaders.

“Since a certain former governor defected to the APC with his state’s entire political machinery, the EFCC’s investigations into his administration have vanished from public view. Not a question has been asked. Not a document leaked. Not a single update. In today’s Nigeria, one’s guilt or innocence appears to depend on party membership, not evidence,” Abdullahi said.

EFCC Belongs To Nigerians Not APC
According to the ADC, the perceived partisanship was damaging the credibility of both the EFCC and Nigeria’s anti-corruption fight.

“The EFCC does not belong to the APC. It belongs to the Nigerian people. It is funded by taxpayers, not the ruling party,” Abdullahi stressed on behalf of the opposition party.

He warned that using public institutions as political enforcers undermines democracy and fuels public cynicism.

The National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) has strongly condemned the arrest, detention, and alleged molestation of African Action Congress (AAC) 2023 presidential candidate, Omoyele Sowore.

In a Friday statement, NANS President, Comrade Atiku Isah, described Sowore as a fearless voice against corruption and a mentor to countless young Nigerians, insisting he has contributed more to the country’s progress than any public officer alive today.

The students’ body issued a 24-hour ultimatum to the Inspector General of Police to release Sowore and publicly apologise to him, his family, and supporters — warning that failure to comply would spark a mass nationwide protest.

    > “Sowore does not deserve this treatment. If our demand is not met, we are prepared to take to the streets,” NANS declared.

Meanwhile, another faction of NANS, led by Olusola Ladoja, is reportedly backed by the Bola Tinubu administration.

  • US Court Blocks Deportation of Hondurans, Nepalese, Nicaraguans Under TPS

A U.S. federal court in California has temporarily halted the deportation of Hondurans, Nepalese, and Nicaraguans whose Temporary Protected Status (TPS) was revoked by the Trump administration.

In a 37-page ruling, District Judge Trina Thompson criticized the government's actions, writing, “The freedom to live fearlessly, the opportunity of liberty, and the American dream. That is all plaintiffs seek... Instead, they are told to atone for their race, leave because of their names, and purify their blood.”

The Trump administration ended TPS for over 51,000 Hondurans and 3,000 Nicaraguans granted after Hurricane Mitch in 1998, and for about 7,000 Nepalese protected following the 2015 earthquake. Similar actions affecting citizens of Afghanistan, Haiti, Cameroon, and Venezuela are also under legal scrutiny.

Judge Thompson said the terminations appeared to be driven by a “preordained” political motive and possibly “racial animus,” referencing Trump’s 2024 campaign rhetoric about migrants “poisoning the blood” of the country.

The deportation pause will remain in effect until a full hearing scheduled for November 18.

  • "OUR DAUGHTERS ARE ALL MARRYING NIGERIAN MEN, BECAUSE OUR GUYS ARE SLOW" - KENYAN PRESIDENT LAMENTS

Kenyan President, William Ruto, has lamented the fact that Kenyan women have abandoned their men and are getting married to Nigerian men.

Ruto who made the remark humorously at a wedding ceremony, pointed to what he described as a noticeable trend of Kenyan women choosing Nigerian partners, and jokingly questioned why Kenyan men seem to be missing out.

He further suggested that Kenyan men may be falling behind in the romance department and need to sit up or all their women would be snatched by Nigerian men.

In a trending video on social media on Thursday, the Kenyan leader said:

“My daughter is married to a Nigerian, and this one is now married to a Nigerian.

“And our guys around; I don’t know, are you slow? I don’t know. We need to balance this scale because at this rate, we are going to have a brain drain from Kenya.

Ruto however, highlighted that the unions of Nigerian men and Kenyan women is a reflection of the strong and friendly ties between Kenya and Nigeria, suggesting that both nations should continue to build on this relationship.

“I think there is something between Kenya and Nigeria, we should pick it up further.

President Ruto also admitted that despite expressing support for his daughter’s union with her Nigerian husband, it was difficult at first to come to terms with her decision to marry a Nigerian.

“It is both an exciting and anxious moment. It is not easy as a parent to give away your daughter. It is much more difficult if you are giving away your daughter to Nigerians.

“It is much more difficult when you are giving your daughter to Igbos,” Ruto added jokingly.

Checks have revealed that one of Ruto’s daughters, June, tied the nuptial knot with a Nigerian, Dr Alexander Ezenegu, on May 27, 2021.

  • Celebrating VMD – A True Patriot and Voice for the People

In a time when silence is easy and compromise is common, VMD chose a different path—the path of courage, truth, and justice.

This is a man who has stood fearlessly for the rights of ordinary Nigerians, speaking out boldly against corruption, injustice, and oppression. Through his actions, voice, and leadership, VMD has touched countless lives, bringing hope to the hopeless and standing as a symbol of resistance in a system that often punishes the brave.

But let’s remember something important: No one is perfect. Every great man in history had flaws, made mistakes, or took missteps. Mistakes do not define character—consistency, conviction, and compassion do.

So while some may choose to sit on his shortcomings, we choose to stand with the truth of his impact. We choose to remember the battles he’s fought, the voices he’s amplified, and the sacrifices he’s made.

Nigeria needs more people like VMD—unafraid, unbought, and unbroken.

Let’s continue to support and uplift those who are brave enough to speak when others stay silent.
