Fubara Attends First Church Service After Reinstatement

Rivers State Governor Siminalayi Fubara attended his first Sunday service at Saint Paul’s Anglican Church, Opobo, following his reinstatement. Accompanied by his wife Valerie and key stakeholders, Fubara expressed gratitude for God’s faithfulness and urged the church to sustain prayers for his administration as it restarts.

He said intercessions had averted shame and brought divine intervention during turbulent times in the state. Marking the International Day of Peace, the governor also urged Rivers people to embrace peace.

Fubara, elected in 2023 under the PDP, fell out with his predecessor and political benefactor, Nyesom Wike, leading to a major political crisis. The conflict prompted President Bola Tinubu to declare a state of emergency in March, which was lifted last week, restoring Fubara and other officials to office.
