Kogi Police Debunk Rumoured Bandit Attack, Assure Residents of Safety

The Kogi State Police Command has dismissed social media reports claiming that bandits were planning coordinated attacks in the eastern part of the state.

In a statement issued by the Police Public Relations Officer, CSP Williams Anya, the Command described the viral reports as false, unverifiable, and capable of causing unnecessary panic.

Commissioner of Police Naziru Bello Kankarofi assured residents that the security situation is fully under control. He revealed that the Police Mobile Force, Counter-Terrorism Unit, Quick Response Unit, and intelligence teams have been deployed to strategic areas across the state. Additional security assets have also been placed on standby.

The Command urged residents to remain calm, rely on verified information, and promptly report suspicious activities.
