The religious services will continue on Sunday, September 28, with an inter-denominational church service at the National Christian Centre, Abuja, starting at 10:00 a.m.

On Monday, September 29, the programme will shift to civic engagements with a world press conference at the National Press Centre, Radio House, Abuja, scheduled for 10:00 a.m.

The highlight of the anniversary comes on Tuesday, October 1, when President Bola Ahmed Tinubu will deliver a national broadcast at 7:00 a.m. to commemorate Nigeria’s independence.

Popular internet duo, Happie Boys, reportedly offered an apology to the General Overseer of Omega Power Ministries (OPM), Apostle Chibuzor Gift Chinyere, during a church service.

Explaining why they previously spoke against the clergyman, the boys alleged that they were misled by one Daniel Ochu, whom they described as a “fake doctor” in America.

According to them:

“Daniel Ochu and his friend connived to fight with you. He came through Mesadiah because he was close to us. He brought out evidences and videos saying nonsense about you, and that we should talk bad about you; that he was going to uplift us and take us to America. That was two years ago.”

In response, Apostle Chibuzor dismissed Ochu’s credibility, accusing him of ulterior motives.

“Daniel Oncho, a nurse assistant in the US, if he can bring out somebody that he has helped abroad then I’ll do something really big. This is a man that has never helped any member of his family. Because of that he launched an attack, because I refused to give him money.”

As a nation, we have faced challenges in areas such as political, economic and social issues but have overcome them. An anniversary is not just a celebration of the past. It is a call for action for the future.”

Schedule released by the government showed that activities will begin with a World Press Conference on Thursday, September 25, 2025, followed by a Juma’at Service and women’s activities on Friday, September 26.

Youth events and a historical arts exhibition will hold on Saturday, September 27; a Church Service on Sunday, September 28; and a public lecture on Monday, September 29. The celebrations will climax with the President’s broadcast and the Independence Day parade on October 1.

46-Year-Old Man Allegedly Goes Berserk, Attacks Church Members During Sunday Service In Ekiti
According to the prosecutor, Inspector Akinwale Oriyomi, the incident occurred on June 20 around 10:30 a.m. in the Balota area of Ado-Ekiti.

A 46-year-old man, Ilori Israel, has been arraigned by the Ekiti State Police Command before the Chief Magistrate’s Court in Ado-Ekiti for allegedly orchestrating an attack that disrupted a Sunday church service.


According to the prosecutor, Inspector Akinwale Oriyomi, the incident occurred on June 20 around 10:30 a.m. in the Balota area of Ado-Ekiti.

He told the court that the defendant, along with three others currently at large, allegedly conspired to assault an 18-year-old, Adunshe Oluwasoji.

Inspector Oriyomi further stated that the accused persons invaded a church during worship and disrupted the service by attacking members of the congregation using a large stone.

The prosecution maintained that the alleged actions contravened Sections 421 and 140 of the Criminal Law of Ekiti State, 2021, and are punishable under the same.

Counsel to the defendant, Barrister Ayorinde Busuyi, appealed to the court for bail on behalf of his client.

Presiding Chief Magistrate, Abayomi Adeosun, granted bail to the defendant in the sum of N100,000 with one surety in the same amount.

The case was adjourned to August 11 for further hearing.

Pastor, Member Shot Dead As Suspected Bandits Disrupt Church Service in Fresh Attack.

According to a report by Daily Post on Wednesday, July 9,2025,suspected bandits carried out a deadly attack on Bege Baptist Church in Yaribori community, located in Kafur Local Government Area of Katsina State, on Monday night.


During the attack, they shot and killed the church’s pastor, Reverend Emmanuel Na’allah, and a church member, Mallam Samaila Gidan Taro,after which they also kidnapped a woman whose identity is still unknown.

The attackers reportedly arrived at the church during the night and opened fire, spreading fear among those present. After killing the two victims, they forcefully took the woman away and fled the scene before help could arrive.

The killings and abduction potentially left the local community in devastation, as residents try to come to terms with the tragic loss of lives and the terrifying incident.


Although the event gained public attention and was shared online by concerned citizens and security watchers, authorities have not yet released an official statement about the incident.
