• “Leave Me Alone and Move On!” — Regina Daniels Sends Strong Message to Estranged Husband Ned Nwoko

According to Leadership News, Nollywood star Regina Daniels has openly called on her estranged husband, Senator Ned Nwoko, to stop interfering in her personal affairs and allow her to live in peace.

In her strongly worded message, Regina urged the senator to act on his previous claims of marrying another wife instead of continually dragging her into conflicts that she believes should have ended after their separation.

Regina expressed frustration over what she sees as unnecessary intrusion, saying Nwoko should “just marry a new wife and leave me alone — isn’t that what you said you would do? Use that one to console yourself.”

Her remarks indicate that she feels the senator has crossed boundaries by staying involved in her life post-breakup, and she wants him to respect his own statements and move forward independently.

The actress didn’t stop there. She also criticized Nwoko’s priorities, stating that instead of focusing on his responsibilities as an elected senator, he has shifted his energy toward monitoring her.

    Regina pointedly stated:
“People of Delta North, your senator has left his responsibilities and focused on small me.”

Her comments have sparked fresh conversations online, with many reacting to the escalating tension between the former couple.

  • New Era in Kano! Governor Abba Yusuf Inaugurates Reconstituted Kano Council of Emirs Led by Sanusi II

Governor of Kano State, Abba Kabir Yusuf, has officially inaugurated the reconstituted Kano Council of Emirs, restoring the traditional structure with Emir Muhammadu Sanusi II serving as Chairman. The council also includes Emirs from Gaya, Karaye, and Rano.

This development was revealed in a statement by the Governor’s spokesperson, Sanusi Bature Dawakin Tofa, on Monday in Kano.

The inauguration follows the signing of the Kano Emirates Council Law (Repeal Bill) 2024, which dissolved the five emirate councils established under former Governor Abdullahi Ganduje, returning Kano to its historic unified emirate structure.

Speaking at the ceremony held at the Government House Coronation Hall, Governor Yusuf emphasized that reinstating the Council aims to strengthen peace, stability, and development across Kano State.

He described the traditional institution as “a pillar of history, guardian of values, custodian of heritage, and an indispensable partner in governance.”

Governor Yusuf added that the Council is expected to serve as a central platform where royal fathers can meet, deliberate, and provide meaningful guidance on issues affecting the people.

The Deputy Governor, Comrade Aminu Abdulsalam Gwarzo, expressed confidence that the restored Council will significantly contribute to the state's development.

Earlier, the Governor’s Special Adviser on Chieftaincy Affairs, Prof. Tijjani Muhammad Naniya, traced the historical roots of the Kano Emirate, highlighting its over 700-year legacy of unity under one Emir.

Responding on behalf of the Emirs, Emir Muhammadu Sanusi II commended Governor Yusuf's leadership and pledged the full support of the Emirates toward the progress and stability of Kano State.

  • Sowore Slams Tinubu Police IG Over Silence as 25 Schoolgirls Are Abducted and Brigadier General kill.

Human rights activist Omoyele Sowore has sharply criticized President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the leadership of Nigeria’s security agencies following the abduction of twenty-five schoolgirls in Kebbi State and the execution of a Brigadier General by Boko Haram/ISWAP. In a strongly worded message shared on his verified Facebook page, Sowore condemned what he described as the government’s disturbing silence in the face of national tragedy.

Sowore noted that despite the kidnapping of the schoolgirls, President Tinubu’s public statement of the day focused instead on offering a casual greeting to a “seasoned banker.” He also accused the Inspector General of Police of failing to make any comment, calling the IGP incompetent, illegally appointed, and long overdue for dismissal, especially after what he described as a disastrous handling of the Yelwata massacre in Benue.

The activist further expressed outrage that even after a senior military officer was executed, the President has still not addressed the nation. He argued that the absence of reassurance, outrage, or leadership reflects a government disconnected from its citizens.

According to Sowore, a country where schoolgirls are abducted and officers are murdered while leaders remain silent is a failed state.

According to a report by Leadership News on Monday, November 17, 2025, Ayo Fayose, former Ekiti State Governor, has become the centre of a new political controversy after a leaked message reportedly showed him directing a harsh personal remark at Olusegun Obasanjo, who once served as Nigeria’s President.

  • Group Petitions Tinubu, Demands Removal of INEC Chair Over Alleged Ethnic, Religious Bias.

Group Petitions Tinubu, Demands Removal of INEC Chair Over Alleged Ethnic, Religious Bias
The recent appointment of Prof. Joash Ojo Amupitan (SAN) as Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has sparked a major controversy, as a coalition of citizens has petitioned President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to immediately remove him, citing what they describe as “grave threats to national unity, democracy, and electoral integrity.”

In a petition submitted through the Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), the group—operating under the banner Concerned Citizens for Peace, Justice, and Democratic Integrity—warned that Prof. Amupitan’s past writings and alleged biases make him unfit to oversee Nigeria’s electoral process.

According to the petition, Prof. Amupitan authored a controversial legal brief in 2020 titled “Genocide in Nigeria: The Implications for the International Community.” The document, the petitioners allege, contained “inflammatory and divisive claims” accusing certain ethnic and religious groups of orchestrating genocide and pursuing domination.

The petitioners argue that such views reveal a “deep-seated bias” incompatible with the neutrality required of an INEC Chairman. “These writings expose a worldview that cannot guarantee fairness to over 200 million Nigerians of diverse ethnic and religious backgrounds,” the petition stated.

The coalition warned that Prof. Amupitan’s appointment has already created fear and suspicion among communities referenced in his writings. They noted that the perception of bias in the leadership of INEC could reignite ethnic tension, heighten religious polarization, and sow distrust ahead of future elections. The petition further stressed, “When citizens doubt the neutrality of the umpire, the entire democratic process collapses. When elections are tainted by fear and bias, democracy dies in spirit.” The group insisted that allowing Prof. Amupitan to remain in office would pose “a clear and present danger to national peace, cohesion, and stability.”

Describing their advocacy as patriotic rather than partisan, the petitioners urged President Tinubu to swiftly replace Prof. Amupitan with a more neutral and credible figure to safeguard the electoral system.

“INEC must be led by someone whose words and conduct embody impartiality, inclusiveness, and national cohesion—not division and distrust,” the statement read. The petitioners argued that Nigeria’s unity is “too precious to be endangered” by leadership weighed down by alleged religious or ethnic prejudice.

Minister of State for Defence, Bello Matawalle, has declared that Lieutenant Ahmad Yerima, the naval officer captured in a viral video engaging in a heated exchange with the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, Nyesom Wike did not break any law.

According to LEADERSHIP, Matawalle made his position known while speaking in an interview with DCL Hausa.

  • Ex-Lawmaker Applauds Wike’s Bold Leadership in Abuja, Warns Against Clash With Soldiers

A former federal lawmaker has commended the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, for his outstanding performance in managing Abuja’s affairs, describing his leadership as effective, courageous, and commendable, according to a Daily Post report on Tuesday, November 11, 2025.

However, the former senator cautioned Wike against engaging in confrontations with members of the armed forces following a viral video that showed the minister in a heated exchange with soldiers over a disputed plot of land in Gaduwa District, Abuja.

“Wike is doing an excellent job in Abuja but should not be encouraged to do this kind of stunt with soldiers,” the ex-lawmaker, Senator Shehu Sani, wrote on his X handle.

The viral footage, which has stirred widespread reactions, captured Wike confronting military personnel who allegedly stopped Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA) officials from performing their duties.

Reports suggest that the soldiers were acting on behalf of a former Chief of Naval Staff, Vice Admiral Awwal Zubairu Gambo (retd.), said to have connections to the contested Plot 1946.

Wike reportedly intervened after learning that the property had been occupied without proper documentation or approval from relevant authorities.

Reaffirming his administration’s commitment to upholding land use laws and fighting illegal property acquisitions, Wike stated that his actions were part of his broader policy to restore order, transparency, and accountability in the FCT’s land administration.

He further cautioned that public officials should resolve land disputes through dialogue and legal means, not by deploying armed security personnel to assert ownership.

“No one, regardless of status or former office, is above the law,” Wike reiterated.

  • Fayose Declares: “PDP Is in a State of Coma” — Says Party’s Crisis Beyond Rescue

Former Ekiti State Governor, Ayodele Fayose, has delivered a blunt assessment of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), declaring that Nigeria’s main opposition party is “in a state of comatose” and possibly beyond redemption.

Speaking on Politics Today on Channels Television, Fayose said the PDP’s internal problems have deepened following contradictory court rulings and power struggles, accusing some judges of judicial overreach.

“I have to tell you the hard truth — PDP is in trouble, the party has gone bad and is in a coma,” he stated. “When a fish decays from the head, there’s no saving it.”

Fayose specifically condemned an Oyo State High Court order allowing the PDP’s national convention to proceed despite an earlier Federal High Court injunction stopping it, describing the ruling as compromised and dangerous for the rule of law.

The outspoken former governor said the party’s leadership crisis stemmed from failures at the top, warning that the PDP is imploding under internal divisions and judicial confusion.

“The judge compromised the matter and granted an ex parte order. This is a bad precedent,” he said.

Despite his criticism, Fayose reaffirmed his commitment to remain in the PDP, though he admitted that several of his colleagues had already left.

“Three governors have gone already, and another will soon leave. When I return here, I’ll remind you,” he added.

The PDP, which has been battling factional leadership between Umar Damagum and Samuel Anyanwu’s camp, continues to face deepening legal and political turmoil ahead of its national convention.

  • 'Under My Watch, America Couldn’t Act in Africa Without Informing Nigeria’ — Fmr. Pres. Obasanjo.

Former President Olusegun Obasanjo says that during his time as Nigeria’s Head of State, the United States under late President Jimmy Carter did not take any major action in Africa without informing Nigeria.

Obasanjo made the statement on Monday in Abeokuta during the Presidential Youth Mentorship Retreat organized by the Youth Development Centre of the Olusegun Obasanjo Presidential Library.

His remarks come amid ongoing reactions to former U.S. President Donald Trump’s warning that America could deploy troops to Nigeria if the Federal Government fails to stop killing linked to jihadist groups.

The Federal Government has since rejected Trump’s comments, insisting insecurity affects all groups and is being addressed.

While Obasanjo did not mention the controversy directly, he recalled a period when Nigeria was regarded as Africa’s clear leader. He said Nigeria once commanded strong international respect, noting that Carter would always notify Nigeria before any U.S. move in Africa.

“They were not seeking permission, but they would inform us,” he said.

Obasanjo added that his administration and that of the late Gen. Murtala Mohammed restored Nigeria’s global standing after what he described as a loss of confidence following independence.

“At independence, the world saw Nigeria as a giant. Soon after, we lost that. When Muritala and I came in, we brought it back,” he said.

Addressing the youths at the retreat, Obasanjo urged them to be “positively disruptive” to take up leadership roles rather than waiting indefinitely. He cited examples of sit-tight leaders across Africa and cautioned that if youths leave the future to current leaders, “there may be no tomorrow left to inherit.”

“You have the numbers,” he said, “but the number only matters when you use it.”

The Nigerian Navy says its personnel have rescued 10 crew members from a distressed vessel off Calabar waters.

In a statement on Friday, Navy spokesperson Commodore A. Adams-Aliu said the rescue was carried out by troops of Forward Operating Base (FOB) IBAKA after receiving a distress call at about 8pm.

According to him, the Base deployed a naval gunboat fitted with a submersible pump to assist MV SEMA III, which had departed Malabo, Equatorial Guinea, and was heading to Calabar, Cross River State, before it began taking in water.

Upon arrival, the naval team safely evacuated all 10 occupants — one Cameroonian, one Equatorial Guinean, and eight Nigerians. The rescued crew members were taken to FOB IBAKA, where they were debriefed, cared for, and accommodated until Saturday, 8 November 2025.

The Master of MV SEMA III expressed deep appreciation to the Nigerian Navy for the swift response and professional handling of the situation.

He added that the incident highlights the Navy’s strengthened efforts under the leadership of the Chief of Naval Staff, Vice Admiral Idi Abbas, to enhance maritime safety, safeguard national maritime assets, and support lawful economic activities within Nigeria’s territorial waters.

  • We’re No Longer Burying People Like Before’ CAN Chairman Makes Bold Claim.

The Chairman of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) in the 19 Northern States and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Rev. Joseph John Hayab, has said that the era of constant killings in Kaduna State is gradually fading away under the leadership of Governor Uba Sani.

Speaking in Kaduna on Sunday, Hayab explained that residents are beginning to experience peace after years of tension and insecurity.

He said the relative calm has restored confidence among citizens who once lived in fear.

“We’re no longer burying people like before,” he stated. “To a large extent, people are no longer scared to travel to certain places. Even curfews that used to be imposed at the slightest tension are no longer common. There is new life in Kaduna.”

According to him, the improvement in security is largely due to the inclusive and open style of governance adopted by Governor Uba Sani, which has encouraged trust and dialogue between the government and the people.

“In the past, people didn’t trust the system. They saw the government as being against them. But now, people are free to speak, and the government is willing to listen. This openness is helping to sustain peace,” he said.

Rev. Hayab noted that though isolated security incidents still occur, large-scale attacks that once made headlines have drastically reduced.

“Before, we were hearing about 20 or 200 people being killed at once. Now, such reports are rare. The reduction shows progress,” he added.

  • EFCC returns N42.5m to 70-year-old widow defrauded by banker.

Justice still works in Nigeria, says elated septuagenarian
The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has returned the sum of N42.5 million to a 70-year-old widow and retiree, Mrs. Margret Taye Odofin, who was defrauded by her account and investment officer in a new generation bank.

The money recovered from the suspect, Mrs. Kehinde Olawale Yusuf, was presented to the victim in Kaduna by the Acting Director of the EFCC Kaduna Zonal Command, Bawa Kaltungo, on behalf of the Commission’s Executive Chairman, Mr. Ola Olukoyede.

According to the EFCC, Mrs. Odofin had petitioned the Commission in December 2024 after discovering that her banker had diverted her savings.

She alleged that Yusuf lured her into a fake investment scheme in 2020 with promise of a quarterly return of N1.7 million, only for her to later discover that N47 million had been siphoned from her account and transferred to multiple destinations without authorization.

The suspect, who allegedly fled to the United Kingdom after the fraud was uncovered, was tracked through EFCC investigation, leading to the recovery of part of the stolen funds.

An emotional Mrs. Odofin, while receiving the recovered money, broke down in tears, praising the EFCC and its leadership for restoring her hope.

“I cannot believe this is happening. When we reported the case in the UK, we were told the offence was committed in Nigeria and that only the EFCC could help,” she said.

“Today, God has used the Commission to wipe away my tears.

  • Concerned Nigerians petition Trump over Zamfara killings.

A coalition under the banner of Concerned Nigerians for Human Security has petitioned United States President Donald Trump, calling for international attention and decisive action over the worsening security situation in Zamfara State and other parts of northern Nigeria.

In a petition addressed to the US President, the group described the killings and mass displacement in Zamfara as “a humanitarian tragedy that demands urgent global response”.

According to the coalition, thousands of Nigerians, including men, women, and children, have been killed, abducted, or forced to flee their homes as a result of ongoing attacks by armed groups.

“We write not just as citizens mourning the thousands whose lives have been brutally cut short across parts of northern Nigeria, but as people who recognize your important role as a global leader always ready to confront moral wrongs,” the letter read in part.

The group alleged that while billions of naira are allocated for security across states, the crisis in Zamfara continues to worsen, leading to the deaths of innocent citizens and the destruction of entire communities.

It claimed that the situation reflects what it called “a total breakdown of leadership and accountability in the management of security resources”.

The coalition urged President Trump and the US government to impose visa restrictions on certain political figures, including Governor Dauda Lawal of Zamfara State, to “apply international accountability pressure on political actors who trade human lives for political and financial gain”.

“Leadership is a moral duty, not a personal luxury,” the group said, adding that sanctions would “disrupt the comfort derived from foreign refuge and compel responsibility at home”.

  • "Despite receiving billions of Dollars in military assistance, Nigeria has failed to curb killings or safeguard Christians" — U.S. lawmaker alleges

United States lawmaker Riley Moore, who chairs President Donald Trump’s investigative committee on alleged killings of Christians in Nigeria has criticized the Nigerian government for failing to justify the significant military assistance it has received from Washington

In an interview on the Dinesh D’Souza programme, Moore said Christians in Nigeria were facing what he described as an ongoing “genocide,” alleging that the violence has continued “under the radar” with minimal global attention. He expressed concern that despite years of US-funded training, equipment & security support running into billions of dollars, the Nigerian government has not prioritized the protection of Christian communities

“My brothers & sisters in Christ are being murdered for practicing their faith,” he said, accusing both Nigerian authorities & the international community of neglect.

Moore warned that if the situation deteriorates further, the United States may be forced to respond. “If we don’t address this and terrorists take hold in Nigeria, we would have to act one way or another,” he said, stressing that he preferred a cooperative approach with the Nigerian government.

He added that the “pieces are already in place” for Nigeria to tackle the violence but insisted that stronger political will was needed. Moore also praised President Trump for his “decisive leadership,” saying he would soon submit a full report to him.

Trump recently redesignated Nigeria a “Country of Particular Concern,” claiming that Christians are being killed on a large scale and warning that the US could cut aid or consider military measures if the attacks continue. He directed Moore and House Appropriations Committee Chairman Tom Cole to immediately review the situation and report back.

The Nigerian government has rejected the allegations, insisting there is no targeted genocide against Christians and noting that insecurity affects citizens across religious and ethnic lines.

  • 31 U.S. lawmakers praise Trump for reinstating Nigeria as country of particular concern.

Thirty-one members of the united states congress have commended former president donald trump for reinstating nigeria’s designation as a “country of particular concern” (cpc), a status reserved for nations accused of severe violations of religious freedom.

In a joint statement released by Rep. Robert Aderholt, chairman of the house values action team, the lawmakers described trump’s move as a bold and moral step to confront what they called the persecution of christians in nigeria. Aderholt said the decision revived hope among nigeria’s christian communities and reaffirmed america’s commitment to defending global religious liberty.

House majority whip tom emmer hailed trump’s courage, calling him “a leader unafraid to defend people of faith,” while republican chair lisa mcclain condemned the killings in nigeria as “a moral outrage.”

Representatives chris smith, josh brecheen, mary miller, and mark alford urged for stronger u.s. sanctions and action against perpetrators of religious violence. smith, who chairs the house subcommittee on africa, said the move corrected the biden administration’s earlier decision to lift nigeria’s cpc status in 2020.

Trump had announced the reinstatement on his truth social page, warning that christianity faced an “existential threat” in nigeria and vowing that the U.S. would not ignore the killings. rep. riley moore, who raised the issue in congress, praised trump’s “moral clarity and leadership.”

However, nigeria’s government rejected the allegations, saying its conflicts are driven by crime, insurgency, and socio-economic issues — not religion. minister of information mohammed idris said the u.s. report was based on misinformation. President Bola Tinubu also reaffirmed nigeria’s commitment to religious freedom, stressing that the nation’s constitution guarantees equality and peaceful coexistence among all faiths.

  • Air Chief Orders Intensified Strikes on Terrorists Nationwide.

The Chief of the Air Staff, Air Marshal Sunday Aneke, has directed air component commanders across all ongoing military operations in the country to intensify air strikes against terrorists and criminal elements threatening Nigeria’s security.

Aneke gave the order during a high-level strategic meeting with commanders from all operational theatres at the Nigerian Air Force (NAF) Headquarters in Abuja.

According to a statement by the NAF, the meeting, held under the directive of the new leadership, focused on enhancing precision air operations and delivering smarter, harder, and more decisive strikes in support of joint military efforts nationwide.

“We must fly smarter and strike harder; every mission must reflect professionalism, purpose, and patriotism,” Aneke told the commanders, emphasising the importance of agility, precision, and intelligence-driven warfare.

He underscored the need for closer coordination of intelligence-led air, land, and maritime operations to ensure mission success, adding that the Air Force would continue to work closely with sister services and security agencies.

While reaffirming his commitment to personnel welfare, innovation, and continuous training, Aneke pledged to provide NAF personnel with the tools and skills necessary to achieve mission success.

He also reiterated the force’s dedication to supporting the government’s vision of peace and security while maintaining international standards of discipline and accountability.

The CAS’s directive comes amid international attention following U.S. President Donald Trump’s recent comments on insecurity in Nigeria. Trump had accused the Nigerian government of failing to stop the “mass slaughter” of Christians and threatened military intervention if the violence continued.

The Federal Government, however, dismissed Trump’s remarks and urged Washington to approach Nigeria’s security situation with understanding.

  • "You don’t have NYSC certificate" — Lagos CP informs Activist Sowore.

The Lagos State Commissioner of Police has fired back at activist Omoyele Sowore, describing him as unqualified to question the competence of the police leadership in the state.

Reacting to comments made by Sowore in a recent interview, the Commissioner said he has served diligently for over nine months and has demonstrated professionalism in his duties.

“During his interview, he said the Commissioner of Police is not competent. I am very competent. I’ve been here for more than nine months,” he stated. “Even in court, where the accused person shows good conduct, the prosecution still has the right to point out his bad conduct.”

He further alleged that Sowore lacks a valid National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) certificate, claiming that although the activist was posted to Adamawa, he never completed the mandatory one-year service.

“I want to make it abundantly clear Sowore doesn’t have an NYSC certificate. He was posted to Adamawa and never did his service. So such a person, who isn’t qualified to bear the NYSC certificate of our great country Nigeria, cannot be the one calling others miscreants or disturbing the peace of Lagos. We won’t allow it,” the Commissioner said.

The police remarks have sparked reactions online, with many calling for restraint and others demanding proof to back the allegations. Sowore is yet to respond publicly to the Commissioner’s comments.

  • President Trump warns: “If New York votes a Democrat, I’ll stop funding the state,” as he outlines his reasons

In an exclusive 60 Minutes interview, former President Donald Trump weighed in on the hotly contested New York City mayoral race, suggesting he could withhold federal funding if Democratic candidate Zohran Mamdani is elected.

The 34-year-old Queens assemblyman has campaigned on policies aimed at improving affordability, including free child care, a rent freeze, and free bus services. Trump labeled Mamdani a “communist” and “far worse than a socialist,” while joking that he is “much better looking” than the young politician.

Mamdani, meanwhile, criticized his opponent, former New York Governor Andrew Cuomo, warning that a Cuomo victory would make the city a “puppet” for Trump. Cuomo has gone further, claiming in a PBS interview that Trump could “take over” New York City and even deploy the U.S. military if Mamdani were elected. Trump dismissed this claim as “so crazy.”

Trump also reflected on his tenure in New York, noting that the city thrived under his leadership but suffered under former Mayor Bill de Blasio. When asked about federal funds, he said, “It’s going to be hard for me as the president to give a lot of money to New York. Because if you have a communist running New York, all you’re doing is wasting the money you’re sending there.”

Mamdani, however, assured reporters that federal funding would continue regardless of who is mayor, emphasizing that it is protected by law rather than presidential discretion. Trump, while not a fan of Cuomo, admitted that he would choose him over Mamdani if faced with that choice, saying, “If it’s going to be between a bad Democrat and a communist, I’m picking the bad Democrat all the time.”
