  • Why I dropped the name Otedola and replaced it with Ajibade after Marriage— Mr Eazi’s wife, Temi opens up.

Actress Temi Otedola, daughter of billionaire businessman Femi Otedola, has explained why she chose to adopt her husband’s surname after marrying Afrobeats star Mr Eazi.

In an interview with the BBC on Wednesday, Temi said the decision was hers alone. “I’m now a married woman, the obvious thing for me is to take my husband’s name. But it’s my personal choice… I also respect a woman’s ability to choose,” she noted.

She added that keeping her relationship private helps her control her narrative. “Moving in silence allows you to build the story you want and share it when and how you’re ready,” she said.

On her father’s recently published memoir, Temi described it as a way for the world to understand his decades-long journey. “My dad has a wealth of wisdom. I’ve been fortunate to learn from him, but I think he felt it was time for the rest of the world to understand his journey as an entrepreneur,” she stated.

Temi acknowledged the advantages of her privileged upbringing. “Oh, absolutely. You will never hear me deny it. It’s important for people born into privilege to acknowledge that leg up they’ve gotten in life,” she said.

She also revealed that her father’s decision not to involve his children in his companies pushed them to create their own paths. “At first I was disappointed… but it turned out to be a blessing because he encouraged us to forge our own paths,” she said, adding that his resilience in tough times remains her greatest inspiration.

  • Tee Famous Reveals How His Strict Deeper Life Father Discovered His Acting Career

Nigerian actor, former production manager, and Afrobeats singer Tee Famous has shared the intriguing story of how his father, a strict Deeper Life member, initially disapproved of his acting ambitions—until fate changed everything.

Speaking on Talk-to-B, Tee Famous explained that he began acting in secret, relying on his married sister to cover for him. Whenever he went to movie sets, he would tell his family he was at her house, and she would confirm the story whenever their parents asked.

This arrangement worked until one evening when his father unexpectedly saw him on a local TV station. Though shocked, his father said nothing. But the real turning point came when people at his father’s mechanic workshop began congratulating him on having a son in the movie industry.

From that day, Tee Famous said, his father’s perspective changed completely, shifting from skepticism to support for his career.

“My dad is a Deeper Life member, and you know what that means. I couldn’t tell him directly. My sister always covered for me until one day, he saw me on TV. At first, he didn’t say anything, but when people started hailing him at his workshop, everything changed. From that moment, he began to think differently about the job.”

The actor revealed that reconciling his passion with his father’s approval gave him the courage to keep pursuing both film and music.

  • Asake Speaks on Humility vs Ego in the Music Industry

Nigerian Afrobeats star Ahmed Ololade, popularly known as Asake, has shed light on the tricky balance between humility and ego in the entertainment world.

In a recent interview, the Mr Money With The Vibe crooner explained that while humility is often praised in society, it can actually work against artists in the music scene. He noted that fans tend to take humble artistes for granted, whereas those who project a bit of ego are often seen as more desirable and respected.

“As an artiste, if you’re humble, they take you for granted. But if you have ego, they feel like you’re not accessible, then they like you more,” Asake said.

He further explained that audiences generally care more about the finished product than the process behind it. According to him, people rarely value the hard work shown behind the scenes, but they quickly recognize and respect results.

“People would rather see what you’re doing than showing them. They don’t really appreciate it. Do what you need to do and just go,” he added.

Asake emphasized the need for artistes to focus on their craft and let their results speak louder than any attempt at validation. In his view, in an industry where glamour often overshadows sincerity, ego can sometimes work as a protective shield while humility may be mistaken for weakness.

  • Our Politicians Are The Reason Why Foreigners Don’t Respect Nigerians Not Yahoo Boys – Seun Kuti.

Afrobeats singer Seun Kuti has said that Nigeria’s poor image abroad is not caused by internet fraudsters, also known as Yahoo boys, but by the conduct of the nation’s political leaders.

Speaking during an interview on the Honest Bunch podcast, Kuti explained that the world does not judge any country by the actions of its worst citizens but rather by the behaviour of its most prominent figures.

Nigerians often accept a misleading narrative that internet fraudsters are to blame for the country’s negative reputation.

According to him, the reality is that global perception is shaped by how Nigeria’s leaders conduct themselves on the international stage.

Kuti argued that until politicians begin to act responsibly and uphold integrity, the nation will continue to struggle with respect from the global community.

He said: “Oh, because of Yahoo boys, they don’t respect Nigerians.

“This narrative we accept about our society is wrong. We know fully well that the only reason nobody respects Nigeria is because of our politicians.

“Nobody judges a country by the worst people in it. Every country in this world is judged by the behavior of the best people the most prominent people.

“It is when they see the behavior of our prominent people that they form their opinion about Nigeria.”

  • 8-Year-Old Star Amariah Poni Lodiong Drops Powerful Anthem Africa — A Song of Pride, Unity & Hope

At just 8 years old, Amariah Poni Lodiong is already taking the world by storm with her latest single, Africa, released on July 30, 2025. More than just a song, it’s a celebration of African pride, unity, and legacy.

With her strong vocals and infectious Afrobeats rhythm, Amariah delivers a track that’s uplifting, joyful, and deeply meaningful. From the opening beat, Africa invites listeners to dance, sing, and embrace the beauty of the continent — but its real power lies in the message: Africa is strength, history, and one united dream.

Before this hit, Amariah stunned audiences with Impossible and Rejoice, which earned her multiple awards at the London Music Awards, Paris Film Award, and New York Movie Awards. She also shined at Kids Got Talent 2025 in Atlanta and performed live at the LAMV Music Awards in Hollywood.

But Amariah is more than a singer. She’s a model, actress, volunteer, and humanitarian. Inspired by children’s creators like Gracie’s Corner and Ghetto Kids, her music blends fun with powerful messages of faith, hope, and love.

Her family supports her journey, with her brothers adding harmonies that give Africa a celebratory feel. Beyond music, Amariah spends time in African refugee camps and orphanages, using her platform to help children and families. Her dream? To build a school and orphanage in Africa, fueled by her music and global supporters.

Through her website www.amariahlodiong.org and a GoFundMe campaign, Amariah is turning her passion into action, showing the world that age is no limit to impact.

  • Again, Naira Marley Denies Involvement In Mohbad’s Death, Calls For Fresh Probe

Nigerian singer and Marlian Records boss, Azeez Fashola, popularly known as Naira Marley, has again denied allegations linking him to the death of Afrobeats star Ilerioluwa Aloba (Mohbad), who died on September 12, 2023.

In a video released Tuesday, Marley insisted he was abroad at the time, stressing that his passport proves he was in Amsterdam when Mohbad passed. He criticised investigators for detaining him and Sam Larry despite their absence from Nigeria, arguing that police should have focused on those with Mohbad in his final hours.

Marley also alleged that social media platforms distorted the narrative against him, denying him and his circle the chance to mourn. He called for a fresh, impartial investigation into the singer’s death.

Addressing label disputes, he maintained that Mohbad had a 50-50 profit-sharing deal and alleged that the late artiste struggled with drug-induced paranoia and suicidal tendencies.

Mohbad’s death sparked nationwide protests, vigils, and ongoing calls for justice, while his family continues to demand an independent review of the disputed toxicology results.
