NYSC Ogun Bids Farewell to 3,756 Corps Members of 2024 Batch 'B' Stream I

In a significant milestone for Ogun State, the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) has officially discharged 3,756 Corps Members from the 2024 Batch 'B' Stream I, marking the successful completion of their one-year mandatory national service.

The passing-out ceremony, held across various local government areas in the state, was a blend of celebration and reflection. The Corps Members were commended for their dedication and contributions to national development during their service year.

The Ogun State NYSC Coordinator, Mrs. Olayinka Diana Nasamu, expressed her pride in the Corps Members' commitment to the ideals of the NYSC scheme. She highlighted their positive impact in sectors such as education, healthcare, agriculture, and infrastructure, noting that their efforts have left an indelible mark on the communities they served.

However, not all Corps Members concluded their service without incident. A total of 16 Corps Members had their service year extended due to various infractions, while 37 were remobilized for abscondment. Tragically, two Corps Members lost their lives during the course of the year. The NYSC extended condolences to the families of the deceased and honored their memory during the ceremony.

As the Corps Members transition to the next phase of their lives, they are encouraged to leverage the skills acquired during their service year, particularly through the Skills Acquisition and Entrepreneurship Development (SAED) program. The NYSC remains committed to fostering national unity and development, and the contributions of these Corps Members have been instrumental in advancing these goals.
