• Take-It-Back Movement Rejects Uganda Election Results, Slams Repression, Killings, Bobi Wine Raid

Nigeria’s Take-It-Back Movement has rejected Uganda’s election results, condemning what it calls widespread repression, militarisation, fraud, and killings. The group cited opposition leader Bobi Wine’s claim that security forces raided his home, cut electricity, disabled CCTV, and placed his family under siege, forcing him into hiding. Describing the process as illegitimate, the movement accused authorities of ballot stuffing, mass arrests, internet shutdowns, and targeting opposition candidates. It warned that Uganda’s crisis reflects a wider African pattern of stolen elections and urged the African Union and global community to take firm action against state violence.

  • AAU Students Wahala Don Burst! Take-It-Back Slams Police Over 52 Students’ Remand, Demands Freedom Now

Wahala don set for Edo State as the Take-It-Back Movement has condemned the arrest and remand of 52 Ambrose Alli University (AAU) students in Ekpoma, describing it as a dangerous abuse of power and a clear violation of human rights. In a statement signed by its National Coordinator, Sanyaolu Juwon, the group said police carried out midnight raids on student hostels, storming rooms and arresting youths who had earlier protested against rising kidnappings and insecurity in the state. The movement said the action was aimed at intimidating students who exercised their constitutional right to peaceful protest. It noted that while kidnappers continue to operate freely, authorities have chosen to chase protesters instead of criminals. Take-It-Back also revealed that another resident was abducted just a day after the protest, exposing what it called the state’s failure to protect lives. The group demanded the immediate and unconditional release of the 52 students, withdrawal of all “bogus” charges, an end to harassment of protesters, a public apology from the government and police, and punishment for officers involved, warning that repression will only fuel more resistance.

  • Wahala Don Set Oo! Ex-Detainee Cries Out Over Torture, Starvation, Disappearances At Imo Police Tiger Base

Wahala don truly happen for Imo State as a former detainee, Augustine Sixtus Nwaiwu, has accused the police Anti-Kidnapping Unit, known as Tiger Base, of torture, starvation and the mysterious disappearance of detainees. In a petition to the Take It Back Movement, Nwaiwu said he was arrested on September 9, 2025, without a warrant, charge or explanation and detained for 10 days without being taken to court. He alleged that officers denied him food and clean water throughout his detention, describing the treatment as cruel and inhuman. He also said the cells were overcrowded, poorly ventilated and unfit for human beings. Most disturbing, Nwaiwu claimed that three detainees collapsed from hunger and harsh conditions, were taken away, and never returned. He warned that their disappearance raises fears of extrajudicial actions. Citing the Constitution, Anti-Torture Act and other laws, he demanded an independent investigation, accountability, compensation and reforms. Human rights groups say the petition adds to growing concerns over abuses at the facility.

  • Take-It-Back Movement Rescues Lagos-Ibadan Accident Victims, Criticises Police Emergency Response

The Take-It-Back Movement (TIB) rescued passengers from a commercial bus accident on the Lagos–Ibadan Expressway at Lufuwape, after a tyre burst caused the vehicle to somersault. Several passengers were injured, some severely, though no deaths were reported. TIB members intervened immediately, highlighting failures in Nigeria’s emergency response system. Attempts to get assistance from the Divisional Police Officer of Redeemed Police Division initially failed. A medical professional among the rescuers coordinated with emergency services, ensuring the injured were transported to hospital. The group criticised public indifference at the scene and called for improved emergency response mechanisms along major highways, while urging citizens to prioritise empathy and prompt action during accidents.

  • Take-It-Back Movement Condemns US Airstrikes In Nigeria, Says Tinubu Has Failed On Security, Demands His Resignation

The Take-It-Back Movement (TIB) has strongly condemned recent United States airstrikes targeting ISIS-linked groups within Nigeria, warning that the action undermines national sovereignty and exposes the failure of President Bola Tinubu’s administration to secure the country. In a statement signed by its National Coordinator, Sanyaolu Juwon, the movement acknowledged the threat posed by terrorism but rejected foreign military intervention on Nigerian soil, citing the devastating consequences of past U.S.-led interventions in countries such as Iraq and Afghanistan. TIB accused the Tinubu government of failing to protect citizens and Nigeria’s territorial integrity, linking public support for the airstrikes to a growing loss of confidence in the administration. The group also referenced the government’s crackdown on the 2024 #EndBadGovernance protests as evidence of misplaced priorities, and concluded by calling for President Tinubu’s resignation, insisting that sovereignty belongs to the people and not a government that cannot guarantee security and welfare.

  • Sapele Protests: Take-It-Back Movement Condemns Police Brutality, Unlawful Detention As Delta Governor’s Aide Sunday Wankego Allegedly Evades Probe

The Delta State chapter of the Take It Back Movement (TIB) has strongly condemned alleged police misconduct, unlawful detention, and selective enforcement of the law following protests in Sapele, Delta State. The protests were sparked by accusations of police brutality, the illegal deployment of police officers for private purposes, and the alleged operation of unauthorised detention facilities reportedly linked to the Senior Special Assistant to the Delta State Governor, Mr. Sunday Okeke Wankego.

The movement described the situation as a grave injustice and secondary victimisation, warning that political influence may be undermining due process and presidential directives on police withdrawal from VIP and private attachments.
Calling for a transparent and independent investigation, TIB demanded the immediate release of any unlawfully detained victims and accountability for officers found to have abused their powers, stressing that continued inaction risks eroding public trust in law enforcement institutions.

  • Lagos Police declare Sowore wanted over alleged public disturbance.

The Lagos State Police Command has declared activist and former presidential candidate, Omoyele Sowore, wanted for allegedly attempting to incite public unrest over the recent demolition of houses in Oworonshoki.

Commissioner of Police, Olorundare Jimoh, said Sowore ignored repeated warnings not to mobilize protests following the state government’s demolition exercise, which officials described as part of an urban renewal project.

Despite the caution, members of Sowore’s Take It Back Movement reportedly staged a peaceful protest on Monday. Security operatives later dispersed the crowd with tear gas, while Sowore himself was said to be absent.

Addressing journalists, the Police Commissioner accused Sowore of plotting to disrupt traffic on the Third Mainland Bridge and cause chaos in the city. “He has put plans in motion to obstruct movement on the bridge, which is a serious offence. We will not allow that to happen. We are closing in on him, and wherever he is, we will get him,” Jimoh said.

He further alleged that Sowore flew into Lagos from Abuja but avoided appearing at the protest site. “He didn’t come down because he is afraid. We have it on video,” the CP added.

A heavy police presence was observed around major parts of Lagos, including the Third Mainland Bridge, to forestall any renewed protest or disturbance.

  • Protesters Defy Court Order, Vow to Storm Presidential Villa.

According to report by Punch on Monday, October 20, 2025, tensions are mounting in Abuja as security forces prepare for a possible confrontation with #FreeNnamdiKanuNow protesters, who plan to march to the Presidential Villa today (Monday) to demand the release of Nnamdi Kanu, leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB).

This comes despite an interim injunction by the Federal High Court in Abuja restricting demonstrations near sensitive government areas, including Aso Rock, the National Assembly, and Force Headquarters.

The organisers, led by human rights activist Omoyele Sowore and the Take It Back Movement, have vowed to proceed with what they describe as a peaceful protest, both in Abuja and across the South-East.

Damilare Adenola, the group’s Director of Mobilisation, maintained that the march is a constitutional right and a stand against the government’s “illegal and inhumane” actions.

Kanu remains in detention facing charges of terrorism, treason, and incitement. His 2021 re-arrest in Kenya and extradition to Nigeria continue to spark legal and political debates. While critics view his detention as politically motivated, the government insists it is lawful prosecution.

The protest’s timing, coinciding with the fifth anniversary of the #EndSARS demonstrations, has heightened government anxiety. Organisers, however, insist that they have informed the police and expect them to provide security rather than clamp down on protesters.

Over 115 lawyers, medical staff, and journalists have been mobilised nationwide to support the march.

The movement has received broad political support, with opposition figures such as Atiku Abubakar and Peter Obi backing calls for Kanu’s release and urging dialogue instead of repression.

  • Court Stops Sowore, Others from Holding October 20 #FreeNnamdiKanu Protest in Abuja.

A Federal High Court in Abuja has granted an interim injunction restraining activist Omoyele Sowore, the Take It Back Movement, the #RevolutionNow group, and others from organising or participating in the planned October 20 protest demanding the release of the detained Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) leader, Nnamdi Kanu.

The order, issued by Justice M.G. Umar, followed an ex parte application filed by the Federal Government through the Nigeria Police Force, which argued that the planned demonstration could threaten public peace and national security within the Federal Capital Territory. The court specifically barred the respondents from staging or promoting any protest around the Aso Rock Villa, National Assembly, and Unity Fountain in Abuja.

Sowore, however, alleged that the order was granted “in chambers” after the same request had earlier been declined in open court. “After initially rejecting the motion to stop our protest in open court, the judge reportedly granted it in chambers,” he wrote on his social media page, calling the move an attempt to silence dissent.

The #FreeNnamdiKanu protest, scheduled for Monday, October 20, had gained traction online and received endorsement from several political figures, including a former Vice President and a former Senate President. Organisers had vowed to march to the Presidential Villa to demand Kanu’s release from the custody of the Department of State Services (DSS).

Kanu, who has been detained since June 2021 on charges bordering on terrorism and treasonable felony, has continued to attract widespread calls for release amid a lengthy legal battle.

Meanwhile, the United States Embassy in Abuja has issued a security alert to its citizens ahead of the planned demonstration, warning of potential v+olence and traffic disruptions in the Central Business District, Eagle Square, and surrounding areas. The embassy advised its nationals to avoid protest zones, limit movement, and maintain a low profile throughout Monday.

Naija News reports that the order follows an ex parte application filed by the Federal Government, represented by the Nigeria Police Force, seeking to prevent the demonstration in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).

In a ruling delivered by Justice M.G. Umar, the court prohibited Sowore, the Take It Back Movement, the #RevolutionNow group, and “persons unknown” from participating in, organising, or promoting the protest.

The suit, marked FHC/ABJ/2202/2025, resulted in a significant setback for activists planning the demonstration.

Confirming the court’s decision, Sowore, a former presidential candidate, expressed his dismay on social media, alleging that the order was granted in chambers after the judge had previously declined to approve the same request in open court.

The groups accused the state government of worsening hardship through what they described as “anti-poor” policies, citing the demolitions in Oworonshoki and other parts of Lagos that have displaced families without alternative housing or adequate notice.

Security operatives, including police officers and personnel of the Lagos Neighbourhood Safety Corps, have been deployed around the Alausa axis to prevent a breakdown of law and order.

As of the time of filing this report, the protesters had reached the Secretariat area, chanting solidarity songs and demanding to meet with Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu or his representatives.

  • Kwara Emir allegedly Orders Arrest of Youth Leader Over Protest Against Insecurity.

The Emir of Tsaragi in Kwara State, Alhaji Aliyu Abdullahi Kpotwa Goshi II, has allegedly ordered the arrest of Musa Saidu Tsaragi, leader of the Take-It-Back Movement (TIB), after youths staged a peaceful protest against kidnappings and banditry in the community.

Saidu told SaharaReporters that the monarch became unsettled by Sunday’s demonstration in Edu Local Government Area, which he coordinated. “On Sunday I led a protest of kidnipping and banditry in the Taragi community, and it was peaceful and we’ll coordinate,” he said.

According to him, he was invited to the Emir’s palace on Monday, where he was hara§§ed and accused of leading protesters to the palace. “So yesterday evening, the Emir of Taragi… called a meeting that the police of Taragi Division should get me arrested,” Saidu alleged. “I want to inform you that Estu Tsaragi said the police should arrest me because I led a protest yesterday.”

The protest came hours after gunmen abducted a local businessman, Suleiman Ndana. Residents said Ndana placed a distress call before the attackers broke into his home, but security operatives never showed up. The kidnippers reportedly spared his pregnant wife after he surrendered himself.

The youths, chanting solidarity songs, demanded that Fulani settlers leave Tsaragi land and called on the Emir to convey their grievances to Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, accusing him of failing to protect communities in Kwara North.
