Nigeria Is On The Brink” — Primate Ayodele Warns Tinubu Over Rising Insecurity

Primate Elijah Ayodele, leader of the INRI Evangelical Spiritual Church, has once again sounded the alarm over Nigeria’s worsening insecurity, urging President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to act swiftly before the situation slips out of control.

In a prophetic warning, Ayodele declared:
“Don’t let us get to the point where we’ll start defending ourselves.”

He cautioned that if the government continues to delay decisive action, frustrated citizens may resort to self-defense and vigilante groups, a development that could unleash widespread chaos and weaken the already fragile security system.

The cleric emphasized that Nigeria is at a critical stage where insecurity threatens both economic growth and political stability. He called on Tinubu’s administration to focus on intelligence gathering, strengthening security agencies, and equipping operatives rather than making empty promises.

“Nigeria is blessed, but we are mismanaging security. Once the people lose confidence in the government’s ability to protect them, there will be anarchy. This is a prophetic warning — Tinubu must take it seriously,” Ayodele warned.


His message comes as insecurity continues to ravage the northern and central regions, with banditry, kidnappings, and insurgency on the rise. Analysts have echoed similar concerns, calling for urgent reforms before the crisis escalates beyond control.

Primate Ayodele concluded with a stern appeal:

“The government must rise now. Don’t wait until people begin to carry arms to defend themselves, because at that stage, control will be impossible.”

According to him, “the stakeholders must stand up to take their birth rights,” arguing that “it was a constitutional right for all to contest, but to align with the existing zoning arrangement, power must be shifted to the Keffi zone (Nasarawa West Senatorial District) for the political stability and unity of the state

Nigerian activist and lawyer, Deji Adeyanju, has warned the suspended governor of Rivers State to be wary of his predecessor, Nyesom Wike.

Adeyanju stated this while reacting to the recent declaration of peace by both politicians.

Recall that President Bola Tinubu met with Wike, Fubara, and the leadership of the Rivers State House of Assembly on Thursday night to discuss the lingering crisis in the state.

According to reports, the President was able to end the face-off between Governor Fubara, Wike, and the lawmakers.

Reacting to the development in a post on his Facebook page, the activist expressed pessimism that the agreement between the duo may still hit the rocks.

He urged Fubara not to hang loose, stating that the Minister may still make his life miserable.

According to the lawyer, “No matter the agreement you have with Wike, he will make your life miserable. Wike is an unreasonable man.

“Fubara will not be able to sleep with two eyes closed and 2027 will be worst. Even when Wike makes a vow, his vow is as useless as the T in buffet.”

Meanwhile, Senate President Godswill Akpabio stated that the political crisis plaguing Rivers State would soon be resolved by the National Assembly.

He made the disclosure on Thursday during the commissioning of the Kugbo Taxi and Bus Terminal in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).

Akpabio promised that the National Assembly would play a key role in ensuring political stability and restoring peace in the state.

He disclosed that efforts were underway to address the root causes of the crisis and foster reconciliation among aggrieved stakeholders.

“We are determined to ensure that normalcy returns to Rivers State. The National Assembly will work closely with all parties involved to ensure lasting peace and progress for the people,” Akpabio said.

The political crisis in Rivers State had led to the suspension of Governor Sim Fubara, his deputy, and the state legislature, three months ago.

President Bola Tinubu suspended Fubara for six months while declaring a state of emergency.

Since his suspension, Fubara had met with Tinubu and FCT minister, Nyesom Wike, his estranged political godfather, in a move to push for reconciliation.

Recently, Wike, who expressed readiness for reconciliation, had charged Fubara to meet with other aggrieved stakeholders in the state for settlement.

TINUBU SET TO REINSTATE FUBARA, BARS HIM FROM SEEKING RE-ELECTION.

President Bola Tinubu has agreed to reinstate Siminalayi Fubara as Governor of Rivers State, but under the condition that Fubara must not seek re-election in 2027.

The decision followed a closed-door meeting held on Thursday night at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.

In attendance were FCT Minister Nyesom Wike, Governor Fubara, suspended Speaker of the Rivers State House of Assembly Martins Amaewhule, and several lawmakers.

It is understood that the agreement is part of a broader peace deal aimed at restoring political stability and democratic order in Rivers State.

Under the terms of the truce, Fubara will serve out his current four-year term but is barred from contesting for a second term.

“The arrangement is clear: no second term, no local government control, and peace will return,” a presidency source familiar with the negotiations said.

The deal also grants Wike political leverage. According to sources, the FCT Minister will nominate all local government chairpersons across the 23 Local Government Areas of Rivers State. This move is expected to restore grassroots control to Wike’s camp.

“The president made it clear that Rivers cannot afford a prolonged crisis. The deal is about restoring calm, but it comes at a steep cost for Fubara,” another source explained.

In addition, Fubara has agreed to pay all outstanding allowances and entitlements owed to the 27 lawmakers loyal to Wike, who were earlier suspended by the state assembly. In exchange, the lawmakers will refrain from pursuing any impeachment proceedings against him.

“Wike is the real winner here. By controlling the local government chairmen, he retains significant influence over the state’s political machinery, which will be crucial for 2027,” a source added.
