• An Iranian military spokesman says Israel would have collapsed if the recent 12-day war had continued for just two more weeks.
Speaking at a conference in Tehran, IRGC spokesman Brig. Gen. Ali Mohammad Naeini said Iran relied entirely on its own capabilities during the conflict and claimed this strategy enabled it to defeat its enemies.

He highlighted the Basij force as a key pillar of Iran’s national power, arguing that any government disconnected from its citizens is at risk of collapse. Naeini said the war tested Iran’s deterrence, strategy, and resilience, adding that decades of threats pushed Iran to build a self-reliant, asymmetric defense system after the Iran-Iraq war.

He noted that Iran has expanded its missile ranges and scientific capabilities, describing the country’s missile experts as young, committed specialists. According to him, Iran struck at least 45 Israeli strategic sites during the conflict, causing major damage and prompting calls to end the fighting.

Naeini insisted Iran needed no foreign assistance and aimed to counter narratives portraying it as weak. He also said neighboring countries quickly condemned Israel’s initial attack on Iran.

The conflict began on June 13 when Israel carried out an attack on Iran, followed by U.S. strikes on Iranian nuclear sites. The fighting left more than 1,000 people dead in Iran. In response, Iran targeted sites across Israeli-controlled territories and struck the U.S. Al-Udeid air base in Qatar.
By June 24, Iran’s retaliatory operations forced an end to the hostilities.

  • Trump Maintains Iran Nuclear Sites Were “Obliterated” Despite Reports Some Survived

Former U.S. President Donald Trump has insisted that American airstrikes "completely destroyed" Iran’s nuclear sites, dismissing reports suggesting that some facilities largely survived the June 22 attack.

Taking to Truth Social on Saturday, Trump reiterated that “all three nuclear sites in Iran were completely destroyed and/or OBLITERATED,” claiming it would take Iran years to rebuild. “If Iran wanted to do so, they would be much better off starting anew, in three different locations,” he added.

The coordinated U.S. missile strikes — alongside an Israeli campaign — targeted nuclear facilities in Fordo, Isfahan, and Natanz. The attacks were framed by Washington as a decisive blow against Iran’s alleged nuclear weapons ambitions.

However, a recent NBC News report citing military damage assessments suggests a less conclusive outcome. According to five current and former U.S. officials, only one of the three sites was mostly destroyed, while the others could potentially resume uranium enrichment within months.

The report also revealed that the Pentagon had proposed a longer, more extensive bombing campaign, but Trump allegedly opted for a single-night strike to avoid high casualties and deeper involvement in the conflict.

Iran continues to insist its nuclear program is solely for peaceful, civilian purposes. #Donald Trump

In a statement on his official X page on Sunday, Mr Starmer endorsed U.S. ‘s action, urging Iran to return for negotiation for diplomatic solutions.

“Iran’s nuclear programme is a grave threat to international security. Iran can never be allowed to develop a nuclear weapon, and the US has taken action to alleviate that threat,” Mr Starmer.

The UK PM urges Iran to opt for diplomatic solutions, adding “The situation in the Middle East remains volatile and stability in the region is a priority. We call on Iran to return to the negotiating table and reach a diplomatic solution to end this crisis.”

Meanwhile, some other world leaders had weighed in on the development.

This is a dangerous escalation in a region already on the edge – and a direct threat to international peace and security. • IRAN RETALIATES BY HITTING ISRAEL AFTER U.S STRIKES

Iran has carried out a barrage of missile attacks against Israel, hours after the United States attacked key Iranian nuclear sites.

Loud explosions were heard in coastal hub Tel Aviv and Jerusalem on Sunday shortly after the Israeli military reported incoming Iranian missiles and activated air defences.

Sirens rang in Israeli cities, with rescue services and media reports saying at least 20 people were injured.

Israeli police reported “the fall of weapon fragments” in an area near the northern port of Haifa, where local authorities said emergency services were heading to an “accident site”.

Tel Aviv, Haifa, and the southern city of Beersheba have been the three Israeli areas targeted by Iran frequently.

Reporting on missile strikes is subject to strict military censorship rules in Israel, where at least 50 impacts have been officially acknowledged nationwide and 25 people have been killed since the war started on June 13, according to official figures.

Iran has warned of “everlasting consequences” after President Donald Trump claimed the US attacks “obliterated” Iran’s nuclear facilities at Isfahan, Fordow and Natanz.

Meanwhile, Iran’s National Nuclear Safety System Centre and the United Nations nuclear watchdog, International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), say there has been no increase in radiation levels following the US strikes.
