Her legal team submitted a raft of fraudulent documents: a forged Nigerian National Identification Number (NIN) slip that was created in Monaco, through an online loophole, a fake mobile phone bill later traced back to her lawyer Mohammed Edewor himself, and even a death certificate riddled with contradictions. When pressed on her absence from the proceedings, her lawyers first claimed she was gravely ill, then announced her sudden death in 2024, filing documents so sloppy they included a Sunday funeral scheduled on the wrong date. Two men appeared as her supposed “son” and “cousin”. Their accounts contradicted each other and collapsed under questioning. When asked about picture of Ms. Shani’s funeral, one of the witnesses claimed the funeral photographer was “killed by bandits” immediately after the funeral. Her legal team in Nigeria (Edewor & Co) and their London counterpart, Kingsley Efemuai, a London-based solicitor, submitted a bundle of fake documents to the tribunal in proof of her existence. Islamism isn’t aimed at seizing power — Sultan of Sokoto says, stressing that Islam is about promoting good governance in society. A Kaduna man, Solomon Ilemona Emmanuel, who presented himself as SANTI XII on Facebook for the purpose of internet fraud has been jailed and ordered to forfeit over N6.2 million to the Federal Government following his conviction for fraud. According to EFCC, Ilemona who as a picker in the internet fraud ecosystem, receives illicit money through a Chinese vendor and transmits to members of his syndicate was convicted by Justice M.J Zubairu of the Kaduna State High Court, sitting in Kaduna on Monday, September 29, 2025. He was prosecuted by the Kaduna Zonal Directorate of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC on a one-count charge, bordering on impersonation and of internet fraud. His charge reads: That you Solomon Ilemona Emmanuel (a.k.a SANTI XII) sometime in June, 2025 in Kaduna, within the jurisdiction of this Honourable Court, fraudulently presented yourself as one SANTI XII on Facebook (a social media platform) to unsuspecting victims and you thereby committed an offence contrary to and punishable under Section 142 of the Kaduna State Penal Code Law 2017. He pleaded “guilty” to the charge, prompting the prosecution counsel, M.J.Argungu to urge the court to convict and sentence him accordingly. Justice Zubairu, thereafter convicted and sentenced him to three years imprisonment or to pay N200,000.00 (Two Hundred Thousand Naira) fine. In addition, he forfeited a Tecno Camon Pro mobile phone and had earlier restituted the sum of N6,057,488.13 (Six Million Fifty Seven Thousand, Four Hundred and Eighty Eight Naira, Thirteen Kobo) to his victims.

Osun Monarchs Appeal to Adeleke Over Alleged Plot to Reverse Their Elevation Two newly elevated traditional rulers in Osun State have raised concerns over a purported attempt by officials of the Ministry of Local Government and Chieftaincy Matters to revoke their appointments. The monarchs—Olokeolooru Obalufon of Okeolooru Obalufon, Oba Adebisi Mukaila Michael, and Onirante of Irante, Oba Ogundele Olasunkanmi Mathew—were elevated to Part II Obas by Governor Ademola Adeleke during the state executive council meeting on Friday, September 12, 2025, according to a letter from their counsel, Sulaiman Akano. Our clients received appointment letters on September 15 and were presented with their staff of office on September 16. The elevation was gazetted in the Osun State of Nigeria Gazette on September 18, 2025.” The letter further alleged that the Oluresi of Iresi is conspiring with some ministry officials to reverse the appointments. The counsel warned that such a move could spark unrest between the affected communities. “The appointment and elevation of our clients were well received by their communities. Any attempt to reverse the appointments could trigger communal tension. We appeal to your office to caution and restrain the Oluresi of Iresi and the Ministry of Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs from taking such action,” the letter added. FG Takes Over Prosecution Of Ogun Monarch Accused Of Cyberstalking Alake. The Federal Government has formally assumed control of the prosecution of the Alagbado of Agbado, Oba Adedayo Shyllon, who is standing trial for allegedly cyberstalking and threatening the life of the Alake and paramount ruler of Egbaland, Oba Adedotun Gbadebo. The takeover followed an order of the Federal High Court sitting in Abeokuta, Ogun State, presided over by Justice Abiodun Adeyemi. According to a Certified True Copy of the order dated September 24, 2025, the decision was reached after the court received a letter from the Director of Public Prosecutions of the Federation on September 16, 2025, requesting to take over the case in line with Section 174 of the 1999 Constitution (as amended). Eya served as parish priest of St. Charles Catholic Church, Eha-Ndiagu. However, community sources insist the killing appeared to be a targeted assassination. One witness told journalists that the priest was driving alone when armed men on motorcycles ambushed him near the ongoing Type C hospital project. “They shot and deflated his tyres, forcing him to stop.
