  • NEW: Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz attempts to shift the blame from the Somali community in the state's widespread fraud scandal:

"It's not law abiding citizens. If that were the case, there's a lot of white men who should be holding a lot of white men accountable for the crimes they have committed."

"Each community's got this in their own midst, but to blame them and say that they should have been responsible for stopping it — I think that's a pretty hard reach."

"I think we continue to educate folks about why they shouldn't commit crimes. You would hope that it's being taught both at home and at schools and in our society."

"But no, I think this idea that the Somali community is to blame for this because they didn't do more — I think that's how we got into this."

  • Police Escort Withdrawal: Pres. Tinubu Should Be Held Responsible If Anything Happens to A Lawmaker — Rep. Jimbo Says

House of Representatives member Clement Jimbo has criticised President Bola Tinubu’s directive ordering the withdrawal of police security from VIPs, warning it exposes lawmakers and politicians to greater d+nger.

Speaking on Channels TV’s The Morning Brief, the Akwa Ibom lawmaker said the order puts legislators—especially those from the North—at heightened risk. “You are further exposing them to insecurity, and their lives could be in d+nger,” he said.

Jimbo, an APC member representing Abak/Etim Ekpo/Ika Federal Constituency, argued that the government’s primary duty is the security and welfare of citizens, citing Sections 12 and 14 of the Constitution. “If the federal government is failing in this constitutional provision and anything happens to a lawmaker as a result of this directive, Mr President should be held accountable,” he said.

He urged President Tinubu to reverse the order immediately and instead formalise the security arrangement to generate national revenue. Jimbo suggested recruiting at least 15,000 youths into the police or creating a private security unit dedicated to VIP protection. “Those of us that have this security personnel around us are not free. We pay for it,” he added, arguing that Nigeria could earn “a minimum of N20 trillion annually” from regulated VIP security services.

Jimbo also rejected the idea that only politicians are VIPs. “Every single Nigerian is a VIP,” he said, insisting that anyone who needs protection should have the right to hire security personnel. President Tinubu ordered the withdrawal of police from VIPs on 23 November. The Special Protection Unit has begun implementation after an audit revealed 11,566 officers assigned to VIP duty.

Although the Senate has appealed for an exemption, Tinubu maintained that the redeployment is “not negotiable,” directing the NSA, Minister of Police Affairs, and IGP to enforce compliance. He stressed that police officers must serve the general public, particularly the most vulnerable—not a select group of VIPs.

  • Nigerians, Bola Ahmed Tinubu is about to hand our taxes and economic data to France.

Yesterday, December 10, the FIRS signed a Memorandum of Understanding with France’s tax authority at the French Embassy in Abuja.

France will provide AI audits, automated compliance, real-time analytics, and cybersecurity tools. In return, Nigeria will share insights from our digital economy and tax system, including international taxation issues like transfer pricing, profit shifting, and multinational compliance.

The government claims no raw taxpayer files will leave the country, but sensitive aggregated data will.

The truth is, this data can reveal key financial patterns and give France visibility into our economy. Once it leaves, we can’t get it back, putting our national economic sovereignty at risk.

France has been losing influence across West Africa, with Mali, Burkina Faso, and Niger pushing back. Now, while those doors close, Nigeria appears ready to open a new one, putting our fiscal independence at risk.

This MoU could compromise our control over our revenue system, expose sensitive economic data, and weaken Nigeria’s fiscal independence. We are big enough to manage our own tax system and employ our own experts.

This deal should be paused or renegotiated to protect Nigerian taxpayers and safeguard the sovereignty of our economy.

  • Burkina Faso Releases 11 Nigerian Officers After ‘Unauthorized’ Air Force Landing Sparks Diplomatic Tension

Burkina Faso has freed 11 Nigerian military officers detained after a Nigerian Air Force C-130 aircraft made what the junta described as an “unauthorised” landing in Bobo-Dioulasso. While Nigeria maintained that the stop was a technical emergency en route to Portugal, Burkina Faso insisted the aircraft violated its airspace without clearance, prompting a rapid security response. The Alliance of Sahel States—Burkina Faso, Mali, and Niger—condemned the incident as an “unfriendly act” and placed their air forces on maximum alert. Despite the fiery rhetoric, Burkinabè officials later questioned and cleared the officers, who have since returned home. The episode adds to rising tensions between Nigeria and the Sahel juntas amid widening regional security and political rifts.

  • New ISIS leader Abdul Qadir Mumin ran terror operations from a cave in Somalia after preaching in UK mosques for years.

Mumin, an orange-bearded and elusive terrorist, now commands ISIS forces from Puntland as the operational head of ISIS' General Directorate of the Provinces (GDP), which coordinates the activities of ISIS branches across the world.

Born in Somalia in the 1950s, he fled the civil war, living in a Somali area in Gothenburg, Sweden, before moving to the UK around 2000.

There, he preached at Quba Mosque in Leicester and Greenwich Mosque in London, recruiting young Britons to join Islamist terrorist groups in Somalia.

He crossed paths with notorious terrorists, including infamous Jihadi John and Lee Rigby's murderer Michael Adebolajo. Mumin left the UK in 2010, abandoning his wife and three children, who remain in Slough with no contact.

"We have not seen or heard from him in more than 10 years. We have nothing to do with him. The kids know who he is, but they don't have any contact with him either."

After returning to Somalia, he pledged allegiance to al-Shabaab, then defected to ISIS in 2015, growing its Somalian cell from 30 to around 1,200 fighters by 2024.

Somali and US forces have hunted Mumin since early 2025. Airstrikes on Puntland caves several weeks ago killed several, but Mumin remains at large.

Mumin's new position has drawn criticism from other jihadists, who claim that only an Arab descendent of Prophet Muhammed from the Quraysh tribe, can take the role as leader. They argue that Mumin's African roots disqualify him from being the leader of ISIS.

  • Burkina Faso Detains 11 Nigerian Officers, Impounds Air Force Aircraft Over Unauthorized Entry

Burkina Faso’s military government has confirmed the detention of 11 Nigerian military personnel and the seizure of a Nigerian Air Force cargo aircraft after it entered the country’s airspace without approval and made an emergency landing.

In a statement issued late Monday, the Alliance of Sahel States (AES) said the C-130 aircraft belonging to the Nigerian Air Force was forced to land on December 8, 2025, in Bobo Dioulasso due to an in-flight emergency while flying over Burkinabe territory without clearance. The AES comprises Burkina Faso, Niger, and Mali, all currently under military rule. Authorities disclosed that the aircraft was carrying two crew members and nine passengers, all of whom were later identified as Nigerian military officers.

The 11 individuals are presently being held by Burkinabe authorities. The regional bloc strongly condemned the incident, describing it as a violation of its airspace and national sovereignty. An investigation has been launched to determine the full circumstances surrounding the unauthorized entry. In response, the AES announced that the armed forces of its three member states have been placed on maximum alert.

The bloc further stated that air defense and anti-aircraft systems across the confederation have been authorized to neutralize any aircraft that violates its airspace. The alliance described the incident as an unfriendly act carried out in breach of international aviation laws and warned that strict measures are now in place to safeguard its territorial integrity and civilian population.

  • BREAKING NEWS: Sahel Alliance Makes Bold Move as Goita’s Warning Becomes Reality

The President of the Alliance of Sahel States (AES) — General Assimi Goïta — wasn’t joking when he declared to the world:

“The sky of the AES countries is no longer a market, much less a corridor where g0ats pass as before.”

Well… today, that statement came to life in full force as the Sahel coalition ( Niger, Mali, Burkina Faso) took decisive action to enforce total control over their airspace — sending a loud message that the era of foreign interference and unchecked military flights is officially over.

This move is already sparking reactions globally, with many calling it a new chapter in African sovereignty, while others warn it could escalate existing tensions in the region.

Whatever side you’re on… one thing is clear — the Sahel is rewriting the rules.

Do you think the Sahel Alliance is making the right move by shutting down unrestricted access to their airspace, or could this create more instability? Let's talk!

In a Statement by the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media and Communications, Office of the Vice President, Stanley Nkwocha said Shettima is expected to join other leaders across Africa and beyond to witness activities lined up for the swearing-in ceremony scheduled to hold on Monday, December 8, 2025, at the Presidential Palace in Abidjan.

  • BREAKING: President Talon Safe as Benin Army Recaptures Key Sites After Attempted Coup

Benin Republic has confirmed that President Patrice Talon is safe after an attempted coup led by Lieutenant Colonel Pascal Tigri and officers calling themselves the “Military Committee for Refoundation.” The coup plotters briefly seized the national television station and attacked Talon’s residence in Le Guézo, where Tigri declared himself leader.
According to the presidency, loyalist forces are now restoring control, dismissing the coup attempt as the action of a small faction with limited influence. The incident comes amid a surge of military takeovers across West Africa, including recent coups or attempts in Guinea-Bissau, Mali, Burkina Faso, and Niger, highlighting deepening regional instability and democratic fragility.

  • Just In: Mali’s President Goïta Drops Bombshell — “We Either Fight for Our Freedom or Remain Slaves Forever”

In a powerful and emotional address, Mali’s President Assimi Goïta has sent a bold warning to his people and the world, insisting that Africa must choose between fighting for its freedom or remaining “slaves forever.”

According to Goïta, Mali and several African nations are being hunted, pressured, and manipulated by foreign powers using terror!sm as a tool of control.

“We either fight this w@r or remain slaves forever, because they are hunting us,” he declared.

Goïta accused powerful foreign interests of pretending to provide “help” while secretly working to dominate African countries politically and economically.

He alleged that these global actors are:

Influencing who becomes president, prime minister, mayor, and political leaders

Forcing African nations to give up shares in mining corporations

Trying to control national passports and security systems

Targeting ownership of Africa’s natural resources

His message to citizens was clear: wake up, recognize the thre@t, and defend national sovereignty before it’s too late.

This statement is already sparking debate across Africa — especially as more nations question the intentions of external powers on the continent.

Do you think African nations should cut ties with foreign powers and political influence?
