  • In a remarkable display of integrity, a Nigerian woman identified as Aisha Isah Yelwa, has returned N330 million mistakenly credited to her bank account.

Mrs. Yelwa, a petty trader based in Lapai, Niger State, revealed that she discovered the unusual balance in her First Bank account at about 3:49pm on Monday, December 29, 2025.

According to her, the discovery came days after she had lodged complaints with the bank over repeated debits linked to loans she previously obtained to sustain her business.

She explained that while checking her account to confirm whether the debiting issue had been resolved, she was shocked to see an amount she had never handled in her life.

She noted that there was no credit alert, no transaction narration, and no identifiable source of the funds.

“In order to be sure it wasn’t a display error, I made a transaction of N1 million from the account, and there was still no credit alert. That was when I became more confused and worried," she told Lapai TV.

Mrs. Yelwa said she remained silent until Tuesday morning, when she visited the Lapai branch of First Bank to formally report the anomaly.

She said the branch manager commended her honesty after confirming that the funds were the result of a system error and immediately took steps to reverse the transaction.

Despite her action, Mrs. Yelwa disclosed that she faced criticism from some members of the public who questioned her decision to return the money, rather than praising her integrity.

To protect herself legally, she said she went to the bank with a lawyer to ensure proper documentation of the process.

According to her, the bank assured her that she bore no liability and would only be contacted if further clarification was required.

Reflecting on the incident, Mrs. Yelwa said she felt fulfilled doing the right thing, describing the act as a matter of integrity and concern for her children’s future.

  • NSCDC Commends Volunteer Who Returned Over N20 Million Forgotten in Tricycle.

The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) has praised one of its volunteers in Kano, Mr. Nura Abdullahi, for returning more than N20 million forgotten by a co-passenger in a commercial tricycle, describing his action as “a rare display of honesty, integrity and professionalism.”

ACG Amos Abiodun-Taiwo, NSCDC Commander of Zone 12, made the commendation on Friday in Kano while presenting a letter of recognition to Abdullahi.

According to the commander, Abdullahi discovered the money after a co-passenger, identified as Alhaji Mustafa from Katsina State, mistakenly left the bag behind while alighting. He explained that Abdullahi used the last dialed number on Mustafa’s phone—after lending him the device earlier—to trace and contact the rightful owner.

Abiodun-Taiwo noted that it is highly unusual to find someone willing to return such a large sum, especially amid the current economic hardships.

He further emphasized that Abdullahi is not even a regular NSCDC staff member but a volunteer who reportedly did not have up to N20,000 in his own account, yet chose to act with integrity.

He said the command verified the incident and subsequently briefed the Commandant-General, Dr. Ahmed Abubakar Audi, who directed that Abdullahi be celebrated as a model of honesty within the corps.

“This young man is a good ambassador of his family, the NSCDC, and Nigeria at large. If this were something negative, social media would have been awash with it. Positive deeds like this deserve equal publicity,” Abiodun-Taiwo stated.

He urged the public to emulate Abdullahi’s sincerity, stressing that moral values remain important regardless of economic challenges. “It pays to be honest. If he had taken the money, he wouldn’t enjoy peace today. Parents should train their children well, and young people should uphold such values,” he added.

The commander also assured that Abdullahi would be “handsomely rewarded” for his exemplary conduct.

  • Soludo’s son Ozonna fires back at critics: I won’t change to please anyone.

Ozonna Soludo, son of Anambra State Governor Charles Soludo, has responded to the criticism he frequently faces from Nigerians on social media, saying he has no intention of changing who he is to satisfy anyone.

Speaking in a recent interview with content creator Goodybagg, Ozonna said that being visible and confident naturally attracts negative attention, but he remains unbothered.

I think it just kind of comes with it. Anybody that is visible and confident, you are going to get hate. I’m not going to apologise to them for not liking me; I’m going to keep being myself, he said.

I don’t do this to be liked by everyone because I have a very strong sense of myself, and I’m not willing to apologise for that. We are billions of people on the planet, and we are all different.

His remarks come weeks after he sparked debate online by joining the viral ‘What’s in your bag’ challenge, where he revealed the contents of his personal bag.

While many praised his honesty and individuality, others criticised him harshly — with some making intrusive comments about his upbringing and sexuality.

Despite the backlash, Ozonna insists he will continue to live authentically, saying he has no plans to dim his confidence for anyone’s approval.

  • Supreme Court Justice, Agim Reacts To Claims That Nigerian Judges Are Members Of Secret Cults.

However, in a recent interview with Yanga FM Lagos, Niniola debunked the speculation that she was keeping her marriage secret to avoid affecting her career or bookings.
    Nigerian Judges
Justice Emmanuel Agim of the Supreme Court has dismissed claims that Nigerian judges belong to secret cults, emphasizing that conscience, integrity, and godliness are the true pillars of judicial service.

Agim made the remarks on Friday, October 24, in Abuja during the Legacy Dialogue 2.0, organised by the Johnny Agim SAN (JASAN) Foundation, themed “Institutionalisation of Mentorship in the Legal Profession: A Strategic Blueprint for Professional Development.”

Speaking in a reflective tone about his faith and the misconceptions surrounding the judiciary, Justice Agim said it was absurd and offensive when people accused judges of belonging to cults.

“I have a conscience. Otherwise, I should not be going to Holy Trinity Parish or even praying if I don’t have a conscience. God is my protection, my fortress and my refuge. You cannot be evil and expect God to be all of that to you,” he said.

“But whenever I say this, a friend of mine would say, ‘I thought they said you (justices) all belong to cults.’ It is not so. We are ordinary human beings.”

The jurist stressed that the moral strength of judges comes from faith, honesty, and a clear conscience, not from membership of secret societies as often alleged by members of the public.

Justice Agim lamented the erosion of ethics and discipline in modern legal practice, saying many lawyers have abandoned the pursuit of justice for selfish ambition and fame.

“When I was a lawyer, we had cases already settled by law and you knew what your opposing counsel would say. But today, people go to court to win, not to get justice,” he declared.

  • “Rebuilding Trust in Nigeria: Citizens, Not Politicians, Hold the Power” — Experts Challenge Government at 31st Economic Summit

At the 31st Nigerian Economic Summit (NESG) in Abuja, top government officials, civil society leaders, and private sector experts united in a powerful call for citizen accountability, transparency, and participation in governance.

Moderated by Frank Aigbogun, Publisher and CEO of BusinessDay, the engaging panel featured Hadiza Bala Usman, Special Adviser to the President on Policy and Coordination; Aisha Yesufu, activist and co-founder of Bring Back Our Girls; Yemi Adamolekun, Executive Director of Enough Is Enough (EiE) Nigeria; Tola Adeyemi, CEO of KPMG West Africa; and rapper and entrepreneur MI Abaga (Jude Abaga).

    Government Promises Measurable Accountability

Hadiza Bala Usman defended President Bola Tinubu’s reform agenda, revealing that the administration’s Citizen Delivery Tracker is now live — allowing Nigerians to monitor ministry performance in real time.

“Every appointee must show results. Governance is no longer about promises; it’s about measurable performance,” she said.

Aisha Yesufu Fires Back: “The Arrogance in Governance Is Sickening”

Activist Aisha Yesufu countered sharply, saying government rhetoric rarely reflects citizens’ lived realities.

“Which Nigeria is she talking about? The one where leaders act like emperors and arrest those who speak truth to power?”

She emphasized that trust cannot exist without humility, urging Nigerians to stop normalizing bad leadership.

Yemi Adamolekun: “Democracy Is Not a Spectator Sport”

Yemi Adamolekun stressed that citizens must be part of the decision-making process, not just observers.

“It’s not enough to tweet outrage — we must vote, attend town halls, and demand transparency,” she said.

Corporate Insight: Trust Grows from Results

KPMG’s Tola Adeyemi argued that Nigeria’s trust deficit can only be fixed through consistent delivery and open communication.

“Citizens don’t want rehearsed talking points; they want sincerity and proof of progress,” he said.

MI Abaga: “Nigeria Must Stop Pretending”

Rapper and entrepreneur MI Abaga brought a cultural lens, describing the nation’s crisis of trust as “spiritual and systemic.”

    > “We clap even when we know the truth. Integrity must start with us — from the top to the bottom,” he said.

Despite their differences, all panelists agreed that rebuilding trust requires partnership between citizens and the state — grounded in honesty, performance, and humility.

  • I Underwent BBL Surgery for My Mental Health — Actress Uche Ogbodo.

Nollywood actress Uche Ogbodo has revealed why she opted for body enhancement surgery, saying it was a personal decision to regain confidence and protect her mental health.

Speaking in an interview the mother of three explained that her body changed significantly after childbirth, leaving her unhappy with her appearance.

“Growing up, I was b¥sty, but I never had an hourglass figure. Having babies made things worse. After my third child, I didn’t like the way I looked. I felt I owed it to myself to be happy and confident. I did the surgery for me, not anyone else for my mental health, to feel good and enough,” she said.

Ogbodo emphasized that she chose to be transparent about her procedure, unlike many celebrities who keep such transformations hidden. According to her, honesty is important because public figures serve as role models.

“In this country, people are hardly transparent, especially celebrities. You’re a star, but you lie to those who admire you. Why should you disappear and return with a perfect body, pretending you were born like that? I believe in encouraging women with my own experiences,” she added.

Speaking about her butt enlargement, the actress noted that undergoing three cesarean sections had altered her physique, making it difficult to maintain her body naturally. “Nobody is perfect, especially mothers who have gone through surgeries. I did mine three times. I won’t just vanish and come back with a flat tummy and round hips without admitting I worked on myself,” she explained.

Ogbodo further disclosed that her husband fully supported her decision, understanding her struggles. On the risks involved, she said, “There’s danger in everything, even in having malaria. But I wasn’t afraid because I was in the right hands.”
