Prophet escape lynching during crusade for using fake prophecy to Dupe women.
A self-acclaimed cleric, Prophet Uwem Mokette and his pregnant mistress, Miss Mary John, escaped lynching for stage-managing crusade on the street and using fake prophecy to obtain properties from women by way of sowing seed as he was exposed by one of his victims he had earlier duped somewhere else in Lagos State.
P.M.EXPRESS reports that the incident happened at Ogunde Street, Ejigbo area of Lagos.
On the fateful day, during the crusade while dishing out prophecies, one of the victims he had earlier duped elsewhere in another crusade, sighted him, raised alarm and informed those present that they were fraudsters.
The 35-year old Prophet Mokette and Mary were held while two other members of their gang managed to escape. While they were being tortured and almost set ablaze, a team of Police officers from Ejigbo Division raced to the scene, rescued and detained them at the station for interrogation.
Following their arrest, those he had already duped elsewhere and those he had already convinced to deposit their phones as seeds during the crusade went to the station and told the Police how they were duped by the suspects in the same manner.
