  • Police Assure Tight Security for Nigeria vs Rwanda World Cup Qualifier in Uyo

    Ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup Qualifier between Nigeria and Rwanda, the Akwa Ibom State Police Command has assured fans and visitors of robust security measures at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium in Uyo.

    The match is scheduled for Saturday, September 6, at 5 p.m.

    Commissioner of Police, Baba Azare, gave the assurance during a press conference in Uyo, stating that police personnel would be fully deployed to ensure a peaceful and hitch-free event.

    “Our men are going to use their total strength in policing the game,” Azare said.

    He warned potential troublemakers to stay away, saying the police would not tolerate any form of violence during or after the match.
