• Ugandan President’s Aide Says Museveni Will Win Election, Son to Succeed Him

A senior aide to Uganda’s President Yoweri Museveni, Yiga Wamala, has sparked outrage after claiming the 81-year-old leader cannot lose the upcoming election. In a viral video, Wamala said voters should “vote and go home,” insisting ballots will be counted by machines, not citizens or party agents. He dismissed any chance of opposition victory, declaring Museveni will remain in power and warning people not to “waste” their votes. Wamala also suggested that Museveni’s son, Muhoozi Kainerugaba, is being positioned to eventually succeed his father, fuelling fears of entrenched rule.

  • Bandits Kill Four, Burn Homes and Loot Livestock in Niger State as Wawa Community Comes Under Fresh Attack.

Bandits have launched another deadly attack on Wawa community in Borgu Local Government Area of Niger State, killing four residents, burning homes and a church, and carting away villagers’ livestock in a violent raid that has deepened fear across the area.

According to local sources, the assailants struck Damala village near the Woko–Daba mining axis between 8:00pm and 8:30pm, catching residents off guard. Eyewitnesses said the attackers moved swiftly, setting houses ablaze, killing civilians, and escaping into surrounding forests with stolen animals before any help could arrive.

Survivors described scenes of terror as families fled burning homes while others mourned loved ones lost in the assault. Community members say the absence of security personnel has left the area exposed to repeated attacks, forcing residents to abandon farms, churches, and daily activities out of fear.

A community leader, Comrade Zakari Y. Adamu, appealed to state and federal authorities for urgent intervention, warning that without immediate deployment of security forces, more communities in Niger State could face similar bloodshed.

The latest attack highlights the worsening security crisis in Nigeria’s rural and mining regions, where forested terrain continues to provide safe routes for armed groups. As residents demand action, concerns grow that violence may spread if authorities fail to respond decisively.

  • Ex-U.S. VP Kamala Harris Condemns Trump’s Military Action in Venezuela as ‘Unlawful and Unwise’

Former U.S. Vice President Kamala Harris has strongly criticized President Donald Trump’s military operation in Venezuela, describing it as “unlawful and unwise.” Harris stated that while Venezuela faces a political crisis under Nicolás Maduro, the use of force does not advance U.S. security or economic interests and risks destabilizing the region further.

Harris condemned the capture of Maduro and warned that Trump’s actions reflect a familiar pattern of foreign interventions driven by oil and personal ambitions rather than democratic principles. She highlighted inconsistencies in Trump’s approach, including pardoning convicted traffickers while sidelining Venezuela’s legitimate opposition.

Harris urged a shift in U.S. leadership priorities, emphasizing the need to focus on the rule of law, alliances, lowering costs for families, and protecting American troops and taxpayers.

  • Amala is overrated—
Lilian Afegbai says as she raises concern over the color

Nollywood actress and producer Lilian Afegbai has stirred reactions online after she revealed why she believes popular Nigerian delicacy Amala is overrated. Speaking on the Xtra Spicy Podcast, Lilian admitted she has never tasted Amala and doesn’t intend to, mainly because of its colour and appearance.

When asked which Nigerian food she considers overrated, she immediately mentioned Amala and openly stated she doesn’t eat it. According to her, the meal’s dark look already discourages her from trying it.
“I haven’t tried Amala and it’s black… why is it black?” she said, explaining that she chooses food based on look and sight, and Amala does not appeal to her visually.

When the host compared Amala’s colour to dark chocolate, asking if she eats that, Lilian explained that although “I don’t eat chocolate, I’m not a fan of extremely dark ones either”, stressing that her preference is largely influenced by how a meal looks.

Her remarks have since sparked mixed reactions, with some agreeing that appearance influences appetite, while others defended Amala as one of Nigeria’s most loved traditional meals despite its colour.

  • “Seyi Tinubu Didn’t Add My Video Because of My English!” — Lege Miami Speaks Out on Birthday Tribute Snub

Popular Nigerian actor and matchmaker, Lege Miami, whose real name is Adams Kehinde, has finally addressed his absence from the viral birthday tribute video made for Seyi Tinubu, son of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

The trending tribute, which featured some of Nigeria’s biggest personalities — including Burna Boy, Femi Otedola, Aliko Dangote, Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, and Olamide Badoo — left fans wondering why Lege, a self-proclaimed close associate of Seyi, was not included.

Many social media users teased Lege Miami over the omission, prompting the actor to respond. In a new video, Lege revealed that his “poor English” was the reason his clip didn’t make it into the final cut.

“Because I cannot speak good English, Seyi did not add my video to the post,” he said jokingly, adding that people should not blame Seyi for the decision.

However, reactions flooded social media, with some fans disagreeing with Lege’s explanation.

    @mz_lara commented:

“I don’t think it’s because you can’t speak English. Even market women and Amala sellers spoke Yoruba in the video. You need to stop being controversial; that’s why people avoid associating with you.”

    @kenny_alert added:

“Your problem is not bad English but low self-esteem. Let that go, and you’ll realize you’re fine the way you are.”

While some mocked his grammar — quoting his line “Seyi is not added my video” — others defended him, calling him a loyal friend who always stands by Seyi Tinubu.

    One fan wrote:

“A true friend will love you no matter how dull you are. Seyi should appreciate Lege — he’s always had his back.”

Despite the teasing, Lege Miami took the criticism in stride, laughing off the remarks and keeping his trademark humor alive.

  • Trump Revokes Kamala Harris’s Extended Secret Service Protection

President Donald Trump has terminated the additional Secret Service protection that former Vice President Kamala Harris received under former President Joe Biden—overriding a one-year extension that went beyond the typical six-month post-office coverage. The protection ends on September 1, 2025.

Typically, former vice presidents are entitled to six months of federal security after leaving office. Biden quietly extended this period for Harris to a full year, but Trump’s recent memo rescinds that arrangement.

This move comes just as Harris prepares to embark on a 15-city book tour promoting her memoir, 107 Days, starting in September. The tour’s timing highlights concerns over her security without a Secret Service detail.

Some critics, including California officials like Governor Gavin Newsom and Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass, condemn Trump’s action as politically motivated and potentially dangerous. They warn it puts Harris at increased risk.

In response, authors and advisors emphasized Harris’s appreciation for the Secret Service's past support, though alternatives for her safety have yet to be disclosed.

  • Businessman Isaac Fayose shares his thoughts on Nigeria after losing N105m in his Amala Restaurant.

Businessman and younger brother to ex-Ekiti State governor, Isaac Fayose, has opened up on the harsh realities of doing business in Nigeria, blaming both government policies and human gr++d for his series of failed investments.

In a recent interview on Honest Bunch Podcast, Fayose recounted how his N105 million Amala restaurant in Abuja was ruined within five months, despite being created with the goal of empowering 50 people. “I opened the Amala place to take people out of poverty.

I spent N105 million and gave 50 people jobs. But in five months, they destroyed everything. They stole two generators, then the POS stopped working. They turned me into national cake,” he said bitterly.

Frustrated by the losses, Fayose said he eventually sold the entire setup for N58 million, barely half of his initial investment. “So investment gone. Business gone.

And the people I hired? They’re out of jobs too,” he added. He also spoke about another business venture , a cattle farm in Ibadan previously managed by his white wife. After she left Nigeria, the farm fell into disrepair. The cows lost weight and buyers stopped coming.

“The business collapsed. The meat sellers don’t even want to buy from us anymore,” he explained. When asked whether his experiences were due to human failure or bad governance, Fayose didn’t mince words: “Government first. How does someone survive on N70,000 a month? I spend N500,000 daily. A policeman earning N150,000 with no pension — what do you expect? He’ll collect bribes. We are designed to fail.”
