Terrorist Leader Issues Threats After Mass School Abductions in Kebbi and Niger

An alleged terrorist commander has appeared in a video boasting about recent mass abductions of schoolchildren in Kebbi and Niger States and threatening to escalate attacks by targeting military officers, state governors, and even President Bola Tinubu. Wearing what seemed to be a Nigerian military jacket, the militant dismissed recent security arrests and claimed the government had failed to protect citizens, urging Nigerians to rely on divine protection instead.

The threats follow two major school attacks: one on St. Mary’s Papiri Private Catholic Secondary School in Niger State, where over 100 students and teachers were reportedly kidnapped during a coordinated overnight raid, and another at Maga Comprehensive Girls’ Secondary School in Kebbi State, where about 25 female students were abducted and a staff member killed. Both incidents have intensified public fear and raised alarm over worsening insecurity in northern Nigeria
