APC Chieftain Condemns Omoyele Sowore for ‘Defamation’ via Sahara Reporters

Chief Tony Okocha, an APC chieftain in Rivers State, has accused Omoyele Sowore, publisher of Sahara Reporters, of using his platform to propagate falsehoods and defame political leaders under the guise of activism. In a statement titled “Sowore: The Unbridled Razzmatazz of a Notorious Crisis Merchant”, Okocha criticized Sowore for allegedly spreading fabricated stories against President Bola Tinubu and FCT Minister Nyesom Wike.

Okocha described Sowore as a “merchant of blackmail journalism,” citing his ongoing trial for cybercrime and defamation, as well as his role in the #RevolutionNow protests of 2019. The APC chieftain highlighted Sowore’s political failures, questionable finances, and alleged intent to destabilize Nigeria. He praised Tinubu’s administration and Wike’s contributions to national development, urging the government to act decisively against those spreading falsehoods.
