Widow Accuses MFM General Overseer Olukoya of Sexual Harassment, Abuse, and Withholding Late Husband’s Works

Yewande Roberts, widow of late MFM youth pastor and gospel artist Pastor Tope Roberts, has accused the General Overseer of Mountain of Fire and Miracles Ministries (MFM), Dr. Daniel Olukoya, of sexual harassment, psychological abuse, and withholding her husband’s intellectual property for more than eight years.

Roberts, daughter of former Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) Technical Director Olatunde Disu, revealed in an account shared with SaharaReporters that she joined the church while in school seeking spiritual counselling but later faced disturbing experiences.

According to her, after being asked to work for Olukoya as a transcriber, the pastor began crossing boundaries.

“He asked me if I was a virgin, and I wondered what he wanted to do with that information,” she alleged.

Roberts claimed Olukoya subjected her to physical and emotional abuse under the guise of deliverance, saying he repeatedly slapped her womb, pressed her neck, and touched sensitive parts of her body during private sessions.

“He hugged me in a way that made me uncomfortable and once pulled my bra strap from behind,” she added.

She said she kept silent out of fear and disbelief from others.

Roberts also alleged that after her husband’s death, the church seized all his recorded songs, videos, and burial materials, erasing his performances from social media.

“They never gave me copies of his songs or burial footage. I have nothing to show my son about his father,” she said.

She further alleged that church members stigmatized her as an “Emere” (marine spirit), accusing her of killing her husband.

“They said I drank his blood. It broke me. I went into depression and have been in therapy,” she said.

Roberts claimed that when she uploaded three of her husband’s songs to YouTube, Olukoya ordered her to remove them or risk losing her son’s education sponsorship.

“He told me he would stop sponsoring my son if I didn’t delete them,” she alleged.

The widow also accused some MFM pastors of attempted sexual harassment after her husband’s death, saying one told her he could make her look “younger” if he slept with her. Another, she said, tried to molest her while she was sleeping in his house.

She added that her social media pages were repeatedly hacked or deleted, which she believed was part of the intimidation she faced from the church.

“My Facebook, Instagram, and WhatsApp were all taken down multiple times,” she said.

Roberts claimed that even when Olukoya promised her financial help, her private proposal later leaked online, allegedly to discredit her.

“That same day, I had two accidents, but God saved me,” she said.

She concluded that after eight years, the church still refuses to release her late husband’s creative works.

“I have moved on, but I believe one day God will fight for me,” she said.

Similar Allegations Against Olukoya

In a separate case, Nigerian YouTuber and former MFM minister Funke Ashekun also accused Dr. Olukoya of inappropriate physical contact and hypnosis during a counselling session.

Ashekun, who served nearly 20 years in the church, alleged that Olukoya grabbed her, pressed his forehead against hers, and told her to look into his eyes—an act she later described as hypnotic.

“At first, I didn’t suspect anything wrong because of his holiness image, but I later realised it was manipulation,” she said.

After relocating to the U.S., Ashekun said several women reached out with similar stories of losing consciousness after similar encounters with Olukoya.

She also recounted meeting another woman in Nigeria who had become suicidal after alleged repeated sexual abuse by the MFM leader.

Both women are calling for justice, transparency, and accountability within the church.

As of the time of this report, Dr. Daniel Olukoya and the MFM leadership have not publicly responded to these latest allegations.
