Adolescence,’ ‘The Studio’ Shine at 77th Emmy Awards

Searing teen murder saga “Adolescence” and Seth Rogen’s Hollywood satire “The Studio” emerged as the biggest winners at the 77th Primetime Emmy Awards, held Sunday at the Peacock Theatre in Los Angeles.

“Adolescence,” a four-part British Netflix series, won eight Emmys, including Best Limited Series, writing, directing, and multiple acting prizes. The drama, centered on the arrest of a 13-year-old boy accused of murdering a classmate, sparked global debate on toxic masculinity and the dangers of social media.

The series also made history when 15-year-old Owen Cooper became the youngest male actor to win an Emmy, taking home Best Supporting Actor. Co-creator and star Stephen Graham, who plays the boy’s father, expressed gratitude:

“We never expected our little program to have such a big impact.”

Shot in a single take per episode, “Adolescence” racked up 140 million Netflix views in just three months, cementing its reputation as one of 2025’s most impactful shows.

Meanwhile, Rogen’s “The Studio” swept the comedy categories, earning Best Comedy Series and a record-breaking 13 wins overall, the most ever for a comedy in Emmy history.

In the drama category, “The Pitt” secured a narrow victory to claim the Best Drama Series prize.

The night’s results underscored the strength of bold storytelling across genres, with international productions and streaming platforms dominating the conversation at television’s most prestigious awards.
