Osun PDP Leaders, Adeleke’s Aides Pass Vote Of No Confidence On Deputy Governor, Others

Crisis is deepening within the Osun State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) as leaders and stakeholders in the Ife Federal Constituency have passed a vote of no confidence on the state’s Deputy Governor, Prince Kola Adewusi, former PDP National Chairman, Prof. Wale Oladipo, and Ife East PDP Chairman, Hon. Olasunkanmi Makinde (a.k.a Benco).

The resolution, reached on Monday, September 1, 2025, during a constituency meeting at the residence of the Osun East senatorial leader, was contained in a communiqué obtained by SaharaReporters.

The party leaders — including aides of Governor Ademola Adeleke — accused the deputy governor and others of engaging in anti-party activities and colluding with Hon. Bimbo Ajilesoro, the House of Representatives member for Ife Federal Constituency, who recently defected from the PDP.

The communiqué condemned:

  • Ajilesoro’s defection with the party’s mandate.

  • The alleged invitation of thugs to a constituency meeting by Makinde on Oladipo’s instructions.

  • The continued fraternity of Adewusi, Oladipo, and Makinde with Ajilesoro despite his defection.

  • The victimisation of loyal party members who opposed Ajilesoro.

The leaders declared that the actions of the deputy governor, Oladipo, and Makinde posed a “grave danger to the success of the party in Ife land.”
