United States President Donald Trump has issued one of his strongest warnings yet against Iran, threatening total destruction of the country if any assassination attempt against him succeeds. Trump made the remarks while responding to questions from reporters about alleged threats from Iran’s leadership amid ongoing protests and unrest within the country.
According to Trump, the Iranian government has crossed a dangerous line by allegedly issuing threats against his life. He claimed that firm instructions had already been put in place, warning that any harm to him would trigger a devastating response. “Anything ever happens, the whole country is going to get blown up,” Trump said, stressing that world leaders must be protected regardless of political differences.
Trump also criticised former President Joe Biden, accusing him of failing to respond decisively to earlier threats. He argued that strong leadership requires immediate and forceful action, insisting that weakness only emboldens hostile actors. The former president further renewed his call for new leadership in Iran, citing reports of internal repression and violence against protesters.
The comments are expected to further escalate already strained U.S.–Iran relations, especially following a recent defiant address by Iran’s Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, who accused Trump of encouraging unrest and described him as a criminal. With tensions rising on both sides, Trump’s remarks add fresh uncertainty to an already volatile geopolitical situation.
