Zigima Goes Global! Sony Music Publishing Partners with Highlife Legend Bright Chimezie
In a monumental move for African music, Sony Music Publishing has signed an exclusive partnership with Nigerian highlife pioneer Bright Chimezie, marking a new chapter for his iconic Zigima Sound on the world stage.
Bright Chimezie, a cultural icon known for blending traditional Igbo rhythms with social commentary and infectious energy, has carved his place in history as one of the originators of modern Nigerian highlife and Afrobeat. His distinctive sound — Zigima — isn't just music; it's a movement.
Under this deal, Sony Music Publishing will manage Chimezie’s entire music catalog, ensuring his legendary works — including timeless classics — are preserved, promoted, and introduced to a new generation of global listeners.
