The Federal Ministry of Art, Culture, Tourism and the Creative Economy has announced the immediate suspension of all enforcement activities carried out by the National Institute for Hospitality and Tourism (NIHOTOUR) across the country.

Dr. Fagade disclosed that the centrepiece of the event will be a 3.6-kilometre dining table, designed to accommodate between 2,000 and 3,000 guests.

According to him, the record attempt will be conducted on the morning of December 6, after which the same table will be transformed into a communal dining area for evening festivities.

He explained that the event will blend food, music, culture, and comedy, adding that the initiative aims to showcase Abuja as a capable host for major December cultural events. He also emphasized that the festival forms part of NIHOTOUR’s mission to strengthen Nigeria’s tourism value chain through capacity building, entrepreneurship, and youth empowerment.

The DG noted that the project is expected to attract investments and unlock opportunities in hospitality, food, and agribusiness.

UK Tightens Immigration Rules, Cuts Post-Study Visa to 18 Months.

The British government has unveiled sweeping immigration reforms that include stricter English language requirements and a reduction of the post-study visa period for international graduates from two years to 18 months.

Announced on Tuesday by the Home Office as part of its new immigration white paper and Plan for Change, the measures aim to create what the government calls a “controlled, selective and fair” system.

Under the revised policy, migrants applying through designated legal routes must now pass a Secure English Language Test equivalent to A-level proficiency in speaking, listening, reading, and writing. The test, to be conducted by approved providers, will be verified during visa processing.

Home Secretary Shabana Mahmood said the reforms reflect the government’s commitment to ensuring migrants integrate and contribute meaningfully to British society.
“This country welcomes those who come here to contribute,” she said. “But it’s unacceptable for anyone to arrive without learning our language or taking part in our national life.”

Effective January 1, 2027, international graduates will only be allowed to remain in the UK for 18 months after completing their studies, a move the government says is based on data showing that many were not moving into graduate-level employment as intended.

The reforms also include a 32% increase in the Immigration Skills Charge (ISC) for employers sponsoring foreign workers — the first adjustment since 2017. The additional revenue will fund training for British workers and help reduce dependence on overseas recruitment.

From the 2025–2026 academic year, international students will face higher financial proof requirements to ensure they can support themselves while studying in the UK.

Other key updates include an expansion of the High Potential Individual (HPI) route now open to graduates from the world’s top 100 universities, with an annual cap of 8,000 applicants and enhancements to the Global Talent route to attract top researchers and creative professionals.

Major General Mamman Jiya Vatsa, a respected poet and military officer executed in 1986 on treason charges, also received a posthumous pardon, symbolizing national acknowledgment of his service and creative legacy.

Similarly, the Ogoni Nine — including Ken Saro-Wiwa, Baribor Bera, and Barinem Kiobel — who were executed in 1995 under controversial circumstances, were formally pardoned. The restored complex, whose silhouette has been preserved while its interiors were transformed, now houses world-class performance halls, cinema spaces, exhibition galleries, an African literature library, rehearsal rooms, media and medical facilities, landscaped grounds, and direct integration with the Lagos Blue Line rail.

Olayemi Cardoso, Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, said the project was delivered through an extraordinary partnership between the Central Bank, the Bankers’ Committee, the Federal Government, and the Lagos State Government. He noted that the Bankers’ Committee committed approximately ₦68 billion to the project, framing the funding as a deliberate investment in the nation’s cultural future rather than a mere act of corporate social responsibility.

“This is more than a renovation; it is a rebirth,” Mr Cardoso said, adding that the centre must be protected to prevent a return to years of neglect.

Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu of Lagos State described the reopening as a homecoming for a city that hosted FESTAC ’77. He said the state played a key role by ensuring a dedicated Blue Line stop and contributing additional land to expand the creative hub. “Today’s commissioning is only the beginning,” he said, urging that the complex become a focal point for artistic excellence and urban renewal.

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, who performed the commissioning, urged Nigerians to speak positively about the country and to “lift Nigeria” by believing in its potential. The President also pledged to contribute to an endowment fund to guarantee maintenance, accessibility, and job creation at the centre.

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission has warned that the rising cases of internet fraud are worsening visa restrictions for innocent Nigerians abroad.

The EFCC Chairman, Ola Olukoyede, said fraudulent practices not only destroy the future of those involved but also tarnish Nigeria’s international image, resulting in stricter travel conditions for law-abiding citizens.

Olukoyede, who was represented by the Chief Superintendent of the EFCC, CSE Coker Oyegunle, gave the charge on Monday at an event in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, organised by the Coalition of Nigerian Youth on Security and Safety Affairs.

His statement was contained in a release issued by the commission on Tuesday.

“The EFCC boss highlighted that internet fraud, money laundering, and economic sabotage cost Nigeria billions of naira annually, undermining national growth and depriving citizens of infrastructure, jobs, and opportunities.

“Beyond the economic damage, he pointed out that the crimes erode Nigeria’s international image and subject innocent Nigerians to stricter visa restrictions abroad,” the statement read.

“I got into bed and then I noticed that he climbed into bed with me as well and started rubbing my leg,” Dixon told ABC News anchor Linsey Davis. “I jumped up out of bed.”

Dixon, who appeared in Perry’s The Oval (2021–2025), claims Perry exploited male actors and hara§§ed staff. His $260 million lawsuit echoes allegations he made to The Hollywood Reporter in July. He also linked Perry to Christian Keyes’ 2023 account of abuse by a “black Hollywood billionaire,” though Keyes’ team offered no comment.

Perry’s attorney, Matthew Boyd, denied the claims. “This is an individual who got close to Tyler Perry for what now appears to be nothing more than setting up a scam,” Boyd said. “But Tyler will not be shaken down and we are confident these fabricated claims of hara§§ment will fail.”

Still, Dixon insists, “Unless someone has been through something where they have their control over their bodies taken away you don’t really understand the kind of feelings that you get in that moment,” he said.

He added, “Everyone deserves to go to work and do their job without their boss trying to have s+x with them. My goal is to help ensure that the next generation of actors and creatives don’t have to choose between their dreams and their dignity.”

The lawsuit alleges repeated advances, sexual messages, and graping. Dixon first met Perry in 2019 at a studio event. He recalled when Perry asked if he was an actor. “And he said, ‘Yes you are. I can tell.’” Dixon said Perry later graped him again in 2021.

“All those years of trying to be an actor would just go up in smoke… I was too afraid to come forward. I knew it would be awful. And I was right,” Dixon told The Hollywood Reporter.
