• Bovi Sparks Reactions as he declares Monogamy a social construct.

During a recent episode of Mentality, Nigerian entertainer Bovi, TV host Ebuka, and singer Banky W engaged in a candid discussion on the evolving concept of monogamy in contemporary society.

Bovi sparked the conversation by suggesting that “monogamy is a social construct,” hinting at the shifting dynamics of relationships in modern times. Ebuka then posed a provocative question, asking whether monogamy could become extinct in the next decade, referencing perceptions that many Lagos women engage in extramarital affairs and the increasing normalization of polyamory.

Banky W, however, took a measured stance, pushing back against sweeping generalizations. “I think I push back when we make generalistic statements… Lagos women are like this, Nigerian men are like that.

You’re casting a blanket of assumption on everybody,” he said. He emphasized the potential harm of such stereotypes, particularly for shaping the expectations of younger generations.

Speaking from his personal experience, Banky W highlighted the role of spirituality in maintaining a committed relationship. “I don’t believe that monogamy is impossible, but my experience is that it is possible with God. When there’s God in the picture, you answer to a higher authority, and that helps you say there are some lines I’m not going to cross,” he noted.

The episode provided a nuanced perspective on monogamy, challenging assumptions while also addressing the influence of faith and personal values in sustaining committed relationships.

  • TVC Host Nyma Akashat-Zibiri Faults President Trump’s Threats, Says Nigeria’s Sovereignty Must Be Respected.

TVC’s Your View co-host, Nyma Akashat-Zibiri, has condemned U.S. President Donald Trump’s threat of possible military intervention in Nigeria, calling it an affront to the country’s sovereignty.

Speaking on the latest episode of the show, Akashat-Zibiri acknowledged Nigeria’s security challenges but insisted that no foreign president has the right to announce military action without first engaging Nigerian authorities.

“There’s insecurity, yes, but how can a president just wake up and threaten our country without even calling ours?” she asked. “Who says we have any treaty that allows the U.S. to enter Nigeria without permission? Are we not a sovereign nation anymore?”

She questioned the sincerity behind Washington’s sudden concern, recalling previous moments when Nigeria sought help and received little support. Akashat-Zibiri also referenced a past U.S. operation in Borno, saying American forces entered the country without proper clearance.

The TV host noted that foreign interference in Africa is often tied to resource interests, not humanitarian motives.

“Look at Congo countries are exploiting them and nobody intervenes,” she said. “Africa keeps getting neo-colonized, and nobody is coming to save us.”

She stressed that what African nations truly need is control over their own resources and an end to external manipulation.

Akashat-Zibiri also lamented Nigeria’s long-standing inability to secure a permanent seat at the UN Security Council, describing it as part of the imbalance in global power structures.

Her remarks add to growing criticism of oversimplified foreign narratives about Nigeria’s crisis, with many insisting the situation demands dialogue not unilateral threats.

  • ADC: "Why Tinubu is losing popularity"- Reno Omokri

Reno Omokri, an aide to former President Goodluck Jonathan, has explained why it seems the popularity of President Bola Tinubu is waning.

Omokri made the explanation on Wednesday while fielding questions on Channels TV’s Politics Today programme.

He was asked by the TV host why it seems the popularity of President Tinubu is going low.

According to Omokri, the dip in popularity of elected leaders is always the case in Nigeria, and so the case of Tinubu wasn’t exceptional.

He said: “That is always the case in Nigeria. The best predictor of the future is the past in every administration. When you have the two-way mark of your first term, when people are feeling the effects of your reform, they are going to have that kind of feeling. But by the time the government gets to the three-way mark, this is history.

“It happened to General Olusegun Obasanjo. Yar’Adua did not have that because of the sickness. It happened to President Jonathan. It happened to Buhari— even worse than it’s happening to Bola Tinubu. And they are beginning to see things are getting better.

“Look, your governor was talking about it. The agricultural input of Nigeria has improved, so things are going to get better.

“Listen, can I say this? Nigeria is not going to get to El Dorado overnight, but we are going to get there over time.”

  • Maybe I’m not good at marriage’ Frank Edoho announces second divorce.

Famous Nigerian media personality and TV host, Frank Edoho, has revealed that his second marriage has crashed.DAILY POST recalls that Edoho married his second wife, Sandra Onyenuchenuya, after his first marriage to Katherine Obiang hit the rocks in 2011.

Featuring in a recent episode of the Tea With Tay podcast, the TV personality disclosed that he and his second wife had separated.

He explained that he did his best for the two marriages but they all failed.

He said, “Maybe I’m not good at marriage, I must confess. The two women I had been married to are not my soul mates. Love of your life is different from your soul mate. The love of your life is the person who comes to your mind when you think of love. But your soul mate is someone who understands you even before you express yourself and you naturally align with.

“I know that I went above and beyond for the two marriages. I carried my partner… I can abandon everything for her. But you don’t blame them for falling out of love with you. Take the footballer Kaka for example, he’s a Brazilian and he looks as handsome as an Indian. Very handsome guy, even when he retired from football, he was still handsome. But his wife divorced him. Do you know what she said? ‘He is too good’.”
