NDLEA Files Forfeiture Suit Against Pretty Mike’s Lagos Nightclub After Drug Party Raid

The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has filed a forfeiture suit against Proxy Night Club, owned by Lagos socialite Mike Nwogu (Pretty Mike), following a raid on a “drug party” held at the club over the weekend.

NDLEA operatives stormed the club, located at 7 Akin Adesola Street, Victoria Island, between 11 p.m. Saturday and 3 a.m. Sunday, arresting over 100 guests, including the club owner and manager, Joachin Milary. The operation came after intelligence reports indicated that the organisers had circulated flyers promoting the event as a “drug party.”

According to NDLEA spokesperson Femi Babafemi, undercover agents monitored the venue for hours and confirmed illicit drug sales before the raid. Officers recovered 384.886 kilograms of Canadian Loud and other narcotics from the club’s storage area.

Speaking at the NDLEA’s annual commendation ceremony in Abuja, the agency’s Chairman, Brig. Gen. Buba Marwa (rtd.), said the forfeiture case was filed because the club “brazenly advertised” the event and encouraged open drug use. He warned that the agency would not tolerate “a culture of impunity” in the entertainment sector.

“If you allow one drug party, in two or three weeks, every nightclub in the country will host one. We will not allow it,” Marwa said.

He cautioned club owners, hoteliers, and facility managers that their properties could be seized if used for drug-related activities.

Marwa also highlighted NDLEA’s achievements over the past 30 months:

  • 45,853 arrests
  • 8.5 million kg of drugs seized
  • 9,263 convictions
  • 26,613 users rehabilitated
  • 9,848 anti-drug sensitisation campaigns nationwide
