Dangote, Rabiu, Mutfwang Call for Unity, Endorse Tinubu’s Reform Agenda During Eid-el-Kabir Visit

As Muslims across Nigeria joined the global community in celebrating Eid-el-Kabir on Friday, several high-profile figures, including industrialists Aliko Dangote and Abdulsamad Rabiu, Defence Minister Mohammed Badaru Abubakar, and Plateau State Governor Caleb Mutfwang, paid Sallah homage to President Bola Tinubu at his Ikoyi residence in Lagos. During the visit, they emphasized the need for unity, patience, and support for the administration’s ongoing reform efforts.

Speaking after Eid prayers, Aliko Dangote expressed confidence in the country’s economic trajectory under Tinubu’s leadership. He praised recent policy reforms such as subsidy removal, exchange rate unification, and tax adjustments, predicting that the positive impacts of these decisions would become more visible in the next two years.

“I understand people are anxious, but we need to give the reforms time to work. Real progress comes when the private sector thrives, and people can earn decent incomes,” Dangote stated.

Echoing this optimism, Chairman of BUA Group, Abdulsamad Rabiu, described Tinubu’s economic policies as tough but necessary. He noted encouraging signs such as a stabilizing naira and increased investments in infrastructure.

“We’re seeing steady improvements in roads, ports, and healthcare. These are clear signs of recovery. Patience and cooperation are essential — building a better Nigeria is a collective responsibility,” Rabiu said.

Defence Minister Mohammed Badaru Abubakar also spoke positively about the country’s security landscape. Highlighting reduced incidents along formerly volatile routes like the Abuja–Kaduna highway, he credited improved intelligence operations and community collaboration for the progress made

“Security has improved, but we’re not resting. We’re committed to sustaining peace through continued efforts and public support,” Abubakar affirmed.

Governor Caleb Mutfwang of Plateau State lauded the administration’s focus on infrastructure, particularly projects in the North-central region like the Akwanga–Jos–Bauchi–Gombe road and a newly inaugurated bridge in Plateau State. Addressing persistent insecurity in the region, he advocated for both military and dialogue-based solutions.

“We’re constantly engaging with the President. Security challenges are complex and evolving, and our response must be flexible and united,” he said.

Mutfwang concluded by urging Nigerians to transcend ethnic and religious divides in the interest of national progress.

“Celebrations like Eid remind us that we are one people. It is only through unity and solidarity that we can build the Nigeria we all desire,” he added.
