Terror Strikes Kwara: Suspected Gunmen Kill Police Escorts, Abduct Chinese National and Nigerian Co-Worker
In a chilling security breach, suspected terrorists launched a deadly attack in Kwara State, killing two police escorts and abducting a Chinese expatriate along with his Nigerian colleague. The victims were reportedly ambushed while on a work-related trip in the state’s remote area.
According to sources, the assailants opened fire on the security convoy, resulting in the immediate deaths of the police officers. The Chinese national and his Nigerian co-worker were seized and taken to an unknown location. Authorities believe the attack may be linked to rising incidents of ransom-driven kidnappings in parts of North-Central Nigeria.
Security forces have since launched a manhunt for the attackers, while efforts are ongoing to rescue the abducted individuals safely. The incident has reignited concerns about the safety of foreign nationals working on infrastructure and mining projects across Nigeria, especially in volatile regions.
