Fresh Kidnap Sparks Fear in Kwara Community as Gunmen Demand ₦100M Ransom

ETension is mounting in the Okoro-Okegbo community, Ifelodun LGA of Kwara State, following the abduction of a respected community leader, Femi Odeyemi, by unidentified gunmen.
The terrifying incident took place around midnight on Sunday when the kidnappers stormed Odeyemi’s home and whisked him away to an undisclosed location. In a chilling turn of events, the abductors have now demanded a ₦100 million ransom for his release.
Distressed residents and community leaders have reported the incident to the Divisional Police Headquarters in Babanla and the Kwara State Police Command in Ilorin, but as of Tuesday, no official update has been given.
This incident comes just weeks after a nearby community, Okoro-Oke, was also attacked by unknown gunmen. That earlier assault claimed the lives of two police officers and led to the kidnapping of a Chinese national and a Nigerian mining worker — whose fate remains unknown.
Attempts to reach Kwara Police spokesperson, SP Adetoun Ejire-Adeyemi, for comments were unsuccessful.
