Tragedy as Police Officer Dies in Car Crash on Wedding Day
What was meant to be a day of joy turned into a devastating tragedy on Saturday morning, as Superintendent Mustapha Garba Gumau, a senior police officer, lost his life in a fatal car accident on his wedding day.
The incident occurred around 9 a.m. along the Gumau–Magama Gumau road in Toro Local Government Area of Bauchi State. Superintendent Gumau was en route to his wedding venue alongside three friends when their vehicle collided head-on with another car.
Confirming the incident, Bauchi State Police Command spokesperson, CSP Mohammed Ahmed Wakil, disclosed that the groom and two other occupants were pronounced dead at the Toro General Hospital.
The tragic crash has cast a shadow over what should have been a celebratory occasion, leaving the community in deep mourning.
