Sardauna Memorial Foundation Urges Stronger Role for Traditional Rulers in Governance and Security

The Sardauna Memorial Foundation has called for traditional institutions to be given a stronger role in governance, particularly in improving service delivery and enhancing grassroots security. The call was made during a courtesy visit to the Emir of Dutse, Alhaji Hamim Nuhu Sunusi.

Dr. Babangida Aliyu, Chairman of the Foundation’s Board of Trustees, emphasized that tackling Northern Nigeria’s challenges requires the active involvement of traditional rulers, who enjoy the trust of their communities. He said the visit was part of the foundation’s annual commemoration of Sir Ahmadu Bello, the late Premier of Northern Nigeria, whose legacies they continue to promote among young people.

In response, the Emir highlighted the importance of education in addressing poverty and insecurity, urging stakeholders to support government efforts to ensure all children, regardless of background or gender, have access to learning opportunities.
