Abuja, August 1, 2025 – President Bola Tinubu has urged Nigerian content creators and digital media influencers to champion unity and national development through their platforms.
Speaking at the opening of the Progressives Digital Media Summit, themed “Unveiling the Critical Role of New Media in National Development,” Tinubu emphasized the need for responsible digital engagement, urging youth to verify information, create job-generating businesses, and produce content that uplifts society.
“Use your influence to foster unity, not division,” the President said in a statement by his media adviser Bayo Onanuga.
Describing digital media as a driver of economic and social transformation, Tinubu praised Nigeria’s youth for their innovation and commitment to building the future today.
He also reiterated his administration’s support for the digital economy through the National Digital Innovation Fund and startup-friendly policies, while warning against the dangers of disinformation and cyber threats.
Summit convener and Presidential aide Segun Dada highlighted how digital media has evolved into a powerful tool for communication and innovation, calling for its responsible use to promote social cohesion and progress.
