The Enugu State Police Command has dismantled an interstate vehicle theft syndicate, arresting multiple suspects and recovering stolen vehicles, including two Mack trucks and a Toyota Highlander Jeep. Investigations revealed that the trucks were stolen from Aba in Abia State, while the SUV was stolen from Isolo, Lagos State, before being moved to Enugu for resale.
Police arrested suspects Okenwa Chinedu, a truck mechanic from Aba, and Adaka Emmanuel, a scrap dealer, in connection with the stolen trucks. Separately, Emmanuel Chukwu was apprehended while attempting to sell the stolen Toyota Highlander. The recovered vehicles have been returned to their rightful owners, while investigations continue to track other syndicate members.
The Enugu Police Commissioner, CP Mamman Bitrus Giwa, commended officers for their swift response and urged residents to provide credible intelligence to aid ongoing crime-fighting efforts.
