BREAKING: Lagos Blue Line to Run Every 10 Minutes, 90 Weekday Trips Starting August 11
Starting Monday, August 11, 2025, the Lagos Rail Mass Transit (LRMT) Blue Line will increase weekday trips to 90 (up from 72), cutting travel time by eight minutes and offering a 44% time saving for passengers.
According to Kolawole Ojelabi, Head of Corporate Communication at LAMATA, four train sets will run during peak hours and two during off-peak hours.
LAMATA MD Abimbola Akinajo credited the improvement to newly procured rolling stock by the Lagos State Government, with Federal Government support. She hinted this is just the beginning, as the full Blue Line extension to Okokomaiko is expected to be completed by late 2026, with passenger services starting in early 2027.
Since starting operations on September 4, 2023, the Blue Line has transported over 5 million passengers.
