One Dead, 76 Rescued As Troops Destroy Bandit Kingpin’s Hideout In Katsina
Troops have rescued 76 kidnapped victims, including women and children, after a precision airstrike by the Nigerian Air Force targeted the hideout of notorious bandit kingpin Babaro at Pauwa Hill in Kankara LGA, Katsina State.
The Katsina Commissioner for Internal Security, Dr. Nasir Mu’azu, confirmed that those rescued included victims abducted during the recent attack on Unguwar Mantau, Malumfashi LGA. Sadly, one child was killed during the ordeal.
The operation, conducted between 6:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. on Saturday, was part of intensified joint security efforts to dismantle criminal networks and restore peace in the state.
The government praised the Nigerian Air Force, Army, and other security agencies for their professionalism, pledging continued support through logistics, intelligence, and community engagement.
