  • Wahala Don Set for Adamawa: Bachama Group Accuses Nigerian Army, Big Men of Backing Tchobo Militia to Grab Mineral Land

Wahala don set for Adamawa State oo! Serious allegations don burst as Bachama militia group accuse the Nigerian military and powerful political big men of backing armed Tchobo militia to chase dem from their ancestral land – because of mineral wealth wey dey the area.

According to Bachama leaders, this no be ordinary communal clash again. Dem talk say the fight don pass ethnic matter and don turn calculated land grab, where money, minerals and political interest don enter the matter.

Dem say the crisis scatter well-well on July 7, 2025, when armed Tchobo fighters allegedly attack Bachama villages, kill innocent people without provocation. Bachama leaders insist say their people no retaliate, saying dem always try to remain on the defensive.

When security forces later enter the area, Bachama people initially happy. But e no take long before dem begin cry say the deployment turn to “occupation in favour of our attackers.” As in, soldiers wey suppose protect everybody allegedly begin protect only one side.

Wahala come rise again on December 8, 2025, when another attack allegedly happen. In a viral video, the Bachama group claim say while their youths try defend the community, soldiers allegedly intervene in a way wey lead to the killing of unarmed Bachama women wey gather dey pray for their men.

Till today, dem say no serious investigation don come out, one full month after the incident.

The group still talk about selective justice. Dem allege say two Bachama youths were arrested inside their bedrooms while sleeping, labeled as terrorists, and accused of keeping guns. As we speak, dem dey prison, waiting for trial.

Meanwhile, according to the group, a Tchobo youth leader wey publicly issue threats and even call for the removal of the Hama Bachama (their paramount ruler) still dey walk free, untouched.

“This is not accidental,” one Bachama leader talk. “The troops deployed here are compromised. They have taken sides and are protecting a tribal militia because powerful political actors want access to the mineral resources on our land.”

Dem even question why soldiers – instead of mobile police wey dem usually use for communal crisis – were sent to the area. According to dem, this military presence don embolden armed militia, who now dey move freely with weapons while residents dey trapped inside their homes.

Farmers no fit go farm. Families no fit work. Life don freeze. Meanwhile, armed men allegedly dey roam under the watch of security forces.

According to Bachama leaders, the real plan be to intimidate and weaken their people until dem abandon the land, which dem believe say get valuable, untapped mineral deposits.

“We are urging the Federal Government to withdraw these troops and stop this injustice,” the group said. “There can be no peace where security forces are seen as partners in exploitation.”

Dem also call on the Adamawa State Government to release their arrested kinsmen within 48 hours, warning say if the detention continue while anger dey build, e fit ignite another round of violence.

Police spokesman in the state, SP Suleiman Nguroje, confirm say two men don be charged to court over the conflict. But Bachama people insist say justice no dey balanced.

SaharaReporters don previously report several times on the Bachama–Tchobo conflict, including allegations of village attacks, displacement, and claims of security bias. Observers don warn before say if elite interest and competition over land and minerals continue, the crisis fit turn full-blown humanitarian disaster.

As e stand now, one thing clear:
This no be ordinary communal clash again. Money, minerals, power don enter the matter. Wahala don set for Adamawa oo!

  • Nigerian Soldiers Accuse Commander of Withholding Operation Allowances Amid Boko Haram Fight

Nigerian soldiers deployed in the North-East to fight Boko Haram under Operation Hadin Kai have accused their commander of withholding their operation allowances, SaharaReporters has learned. The affected troops claim that thousands of soldiers, along with personnel from the Mobile Police and NSCDC, have been stranded in the field, facing declining morale as they continue counter-insurgency operations without proper support.

The soldiers allege that their allowances, meant to sustain them while deployed, are irregularly paid. Each soldier is entitled to N1,500 per day, amounting to N46,500 per month, but payments have reportedly been skipped since Major General Abubakar took over as Theatre Commander.

Operation Hadin Kai spans multiple sectors in Borno, Yobe, and Adamawa states, where troops face constant threats from insurgents. Soldiers argue that even though the allowance is modest, it is essential for their welfare in the field. Previous complaints to army authorities have reportedly been met with threats rather than solutions.

The soldiers have appealed for urgent intervention, warning that continued non-payment could further demoralize troops risking their lives daily. Efforts to get a comment from the Nigerian Army were unsuccessful at the time of reporting.

  • Why Did Two Brothers Allegedly Kill Their Father in Adamawa? Police Arrest One Suspect, Launch Manhunt for Fleeing Sibling

What could drive two sons to allegedly murder their own father? This haunting question has gripped residents of Numan town in Adamawa State following the arrest of one of two brothers accused of strangling their father to death in a shocking family tragedy.

The Nigerian Police have confirmed the arrest of David ThankGod, while his younger brother, Joshua ThankGod, remains on the run. According to the Adamawa State Police Command, David was apprehended in Jalingo, Taraba State, after fleeing the state in the aftermath of the killing. Police say efforts are ongoing to track down and arrest Joshua, who is currently evading capture.

The victim, Ogar ThankGod, a well-known businessman in Numan, was allegedly attacked and strangled at his residence in the Gwe-da-Mallam area around 1:00 a.m. The disturbing incident reportedly followed a prolonged family dispute that had already been reported to the police before the fatal confrontation occurred.

According to police spokesperson SP Suleiman Nguroje, investigations revealed that the two brothers—aged 23 and 25—had been called back from Lagos by their sister in an attempt to resolve the ongoing family conflict. However, what was meant to be mediation tragically escalated into violence, culminating in their father’s death. “The matter was already a police case before the unfortunate incident,” Nguroje stated.

The killing has sent shockwaves through Numan, with residents describing it as one of the most disturbing family-related crimes in recent memory. Community members expressed disbelief that a domestic dispute could end in such a brutal loss of life, raising questions about unresolved family tensions, conflict resolution, and the warning signs that precede violent crimes.

Police authorities have assured the public that investigations are continuing and that the remaining suspect will be brought to justice. As the manhunt for Joshua ThankGod intensifies, many Nigerians are asking: Could this tragedy have been prevented, and what really triggered the final act of violence?

This case adds to growing concerns about domestic conflicts escalating into deadly outcomes, highlighting the urgent need for early intervention, conflict mediation, and stronger community support systems in preventing family-related violence across Nigeria.

The Nigerian military has announced the dismantling of a suspected suicide bombing network in Adamawa State, with the arrest of eight individuals linked to the recent Gamboru Market Mosque attack, according to Lieutenant Colonel Sani Uba, Media Information Officer of the Joint Task Force (North East), Operation HADIN KAI.

The arrests were made following intelligence-led cordon-and-search operations in the Yan Lemo area of Mubi South LGA. Among the eight suspects, two were identified as key facilitators who supplied materials for the Improvised Explosive Device (IED) used in the attack. Searches of their residences yielded cash, mobile phones, ID documents, ATM cards, jewellery, and other personal items, all undergoing forensic analysis.

In a related operation on January 4, troops intercepted 45 jerrycans of Premium Motor Spirit (about 1,125 litres) in Mayo Nguli, Maiha LGA, suspected to be intended for terrorist activities. The suppliers escaped, and the petroleum products were secured.

All suspects remain in military custody for detailed interrogation to gather further intelligence before being handed over for ongoing investigations. The military emphasized that these operations are part of a broader effort to disrupt terrorist networks, dismantle supply chains, and prevent future attacks.

The military also urged the public to remain vigilant and continue cooperating with security agencies to strengthen security in the North East.

  • US Lawmaker Riley Moore Condemns ISWAP’s Fresh Threat Against Nigerian Christians After Adamawa Attack, Calls It Clear Religious Persecution

A United States lawmaker, Rep. Riley M. Moore of West Virginia, has strongly condemned a reported threat by the Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP) against Christians in Nigeria, describing it as blatant religious persecution. Moore reacted to reports that ISWAP released an image of a Christian village in Adamawa State set ablaze, accompanied by a warning declaring Christians across Nigeria as “legitimate targets.”

In a statement shared on his official X account, Moore said the threat leaves no doubt that Christians in Nigeria are being targeted solely because of their faith. He rejected explanations that frame the violence as being driven by land disputes or climate-related factors, insisting it is persecution based on religion.

According to reports, ISWAP allegedly warned Christians to convert to Islam or face death, stating they could “spare their blood” by converting or paying the jizyah tax. Moore noted that such language mirrors tactics historically used by ISIS in other conflict zones around the world.

The congressman also praised ongoing cooperation between the United States and Nigeria in combating extremist violence, expressing support for efforts by the U.S. government to counter jihadist groups and protect vulnerable Christian communities.

Nigeria has endured years of attacks by Boko Haram and its ISWAP faction, particularly in the northeast, with rights groups repeatedly warning that Christian communities are disproportionately affected. Moore’s remarks add to growing international calls for stronger action and increased global attention to religious persecution and insecurity in Nigeria.

One of the victims, Mr Alfred Pwanadi, a physically disabled man from the Wadukku community, shared his harrowing ordeal after spending seven days searching for his wife and children without success. Speaking to Legit.ng, Pwanadi said his home was burnt during the attack allegedly carried out by rival community members, forcing his family to flee. Since then, he has neither seen nor heard from them and fears they may have been killed or abducted during the violence.

Pwanadi, who has no hands and depends entirely on his family for care, revealed that the crisis disrupted plans for his surgery and left him wandering between Numan and Demsa in search of information. Exhausted, hungry and helpless, he reportedly slept at a pavilion for seven days without food or water before receiving assistance from a nearby church and local residents who provided him with clothes and transport fare.

The traumatised survivor described the emotional pain of losing contact with his family and appealed to the government, community leaders, humanitarian organisations and well-meaning Nigerians for urgent support. He stressed that he is not alone, as many other victims of the Lamurde crisis remain displaced and unsure of their relatives’ whereabouts.

The incident adds to growing concerns over insecurity and communal violence in Adamawa State, as affected communities continue to struggle with loss, fear and uncertainty while calling for relief, reconciliation and lasting peace.

  • BREAKING: Adamawa Churches Cancel New Year Crossover Services as CAN Issues DSS-Based Terror Attack Alert on Yola and Other Parts of State

Churches across Adamawa State have abruptly cancelled their New Year crossover services following an urgent security alert issued by the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) over an alleged planned terrorist attack. The warning, based on what CAN described as credible intelligence from the Department of State Services (DSS), indicated that terrorists were planning to unleash violence in Yola and other parts of the state during crossover night.

In a statement signed by Rev. Dr. Joel Danjuma Manzo, CAN Chairman in Adamawa State, church leaders were directed to immediately suspend crossover services to safeguard lives. He urged pastors and congregations to treat the advisory with utmost seriousness, stressing that personal safety outweighs holding religious gatherings. The alert has heightened fear among residents, underscoring persistent security challenges in the state.

Reflecting the severity of the threat, Adamawa State Governor Ahmadu Fintiri also cancelled the state’s official New Year crossover celebration, an annual event that usually attracts large crowds and top Nigerian entertainers. The twin cancellations of both church and government events have sent shockwaves across Adamawa, casting a shadow over the transition into the new year as residents brace for a quiet and security-conscious crossover into 2026.

  • Boko Haram Attack in Adamawa Communities Kills 14, Destroys Shops and Food Stores, Residents Demand Government Action

Suspected Boko Haram fighters launched a deadly attack on Zah and Mubang communities in Yadul, Garaha District of Adamawa State on the evening of Monday, December 29, 2025. The assault claimed at least 14 lives, including elders and youths, and left two others injured. Attackers also set ablaze food stores and other properties, devastating local livelihoods.

Residents described the attack as part of a recurring nightmare, citing repeated assaults on the largely Christian farming settlements of Yadul, Garaha District, including Dabna, Kopre, Kultha, and Kinging. Many residents have been forced to live as internally displaced persons in their own land.

Community leaders called on the Nigerian government to strengthen security, close existing loopholes, and implement measures beyond relief handouts to protect lives and property. Locals emphasized that the ongoing attacks threaten food security and dignity, demanding urgent government intervention.
