The Shooting Stars Sports Club (3SC) of Ibadan, Oyo State, has been thrown into mourning following the sudden death of their newly appointed Assistant Coach, Akin Olowokere, on Monday morning.
Eyewitnesses revealed that the former Sunshine Stars of Akure player collapsed on the pitch during the team’s morning training session and was immediately rushed to the hospital, where he was confirmed dead.
The cause of his death remains unknown as of press time. Olowokere, a soft-spoken and respected figure in Nigerian football, was only recently unveiled as part of the Oluyole Warriors’ new coaching team after the club’s management parted ways with Gbenga Ogunbote’s technical crew.
