PDP Crisis: Wike’s Camp Insists National Chairman Must Stay in North-Central, Demands Fresh Congresses

Prominent members of the PDP, loyal to FCT Minister Nyesom Wike, have declared that the office of the National Chairman must remain in the North-Central zone, stressing that fairness and inclusivity must guide the party ahead of its national convention.

Meeting in Abuja on Monday night, the leaders — including former governors Samuel Ortom, Ayo Fayose, Okezie Ikpeazu, Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi, House Minority Leader Kingsley Chinda, and others — demanded fresh congresses in Ebonyi, Anambra, and Ekiti states to resolve lingering disputes.

They warned that any attempt to ignore their resolutions could render the convention invalid and deepen divisions within the party.

“For peace and stability, the office of the National Chairman must remain in the North-Central in line with the 2021 zoning arrangement,” the communiqué read.
