Dele Momodu: My Warnings on Tinubu’s Leadership Are Now Nigeria’s Reality

Dele Momodu, a chieftain of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), has said that his earlier warnings about President Bola Tinubu’s rise to power are now unfolding in Nigeria’s political and economic landscape.

Speaking in an interview with News Central TV, Momodu recalled that as far back as October 2022, during an appearance on Channels TV, he had cautioned that Tinubu’s style of governance would prioritize personal and elite interests over the welfare of ordinary Nigerians.

According to him, the current state of the nation reflects exactly what he feared.

“As far back as October 2022, I said if Tinubu gets power, this is what will happen. And it is happening. These are leaders who care only about themselves. They have taken control of Nigeria, and only God and, hopefully, ADC can rescue us,” Momodu stated.

He argued that Nigeria has been effectively “captured” by a ruling elite who continue to advance self-serving agendas, while ordinary citizens struggle.

Momodu also criticized the culture of loyalty based on friendship, family ties, or ethnicity, insisting that such practices have derailed the true essence of democracy for which Nigerians fought.

He maintained that only divine intervention, alongside the ADC’s efforts, can deliver genuine transformation and restore faith in governance.
