The Lagos State Police Command has announced that its Explosives Ordnance Disposal – Chemical, Biological, Radiological & Nuclear (EOD-CBRN) Unit will carry out an Improvised Explosive Device (IED) simulation exercise at Eko Atlantic City on August 28, 2025.
Police spokesman CSP Benjamin Hundeyin said the drill is aimed at strengthening the force’s preparedness & response to b+mb-related emergencies. The exercise will feature controlled detonations handled by specialised officers.
“Members of the public are hereby notified that blast sounds will be heard during the exercise but there will be no shrapnel or associated danger,” Hundeyin explained. He urged residents, workers, & visitors around Eko Atlantic to stay calm & continue their activities without panic
The command assured that adequate safety measures are in place to protect lives and property. Commissioner of Police appealed for public cooperation & stressed the exercise reflects the police’s commitment to ensuring the safety & security of Lagosians
