ArticlesEnough is Enough: Ogun State is Not a Dictatorship Olushola Babatunde Senbanjo.

We, the good people of Ogun State, stand in total condemnation of the shameful and anti-democratic actions allegedly perpetrated by Governor Dapo Abiodun in the lead-up to the Ogun State bye-election.

It is deeply disturbing, unacceptable, and utterly disgraceful that a sitting governor, one who was elected to serve all citizens, regardless of political affiliation, would stoop so low as to threaten the revered traditional rulers of Remo land, warning of their possible dethronement should the APC fail to win the election in their domains.

Let us be very clear: our royal fathers are not political tools. They are the custodians of our heritage, culture, and identity. Any attempt to coerce, intimidate, or manipulate them for political gain is an affront not just to the Obas themselves, but to every son and daughter of Ogun State.

This reckless statement, represents a clear abuse of power, a betrayal of democratic values, and an insult to the very institutions that uphold peace and unity across our communities.

Democracy thrives on free will, transparency, and the sanctity of the ballot box. Elections are not wars to be won by any means necessary, and the people of Ogun State will not sit silently while their voices are hijacked through fear-mongering, coercion, and executive overreach.

We ask: What kind of leader threatens the throne of our respected Obas just to secure votes? What legacy does Governor Abiodun seek to leave behind, one of intimidation, dishonour, and desperation?

To the governor, we say this: Power is transient, but the people remain eternal. If you cannot win the hearts of the people through your achievements, then no amount of threats or bullying will save your party at the polls.

To the royal fathers, we say: Stand strong. The people are behind you. History will not forget those who stood on the side of truth.
