I follow no one but Christ” – Dino Melaye opens up on joining ADC.

A former lawmaker of the National Assembly, Dino Melaye has opened up on his recent decision to join the coalition party, the African Democratic Congress (ADC).

Melaye, who was formerly with the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) resigned his membership from the party and joined the ADC on Thursday, July 31.

However, debunking reports that he joined the bandwagon to the ADC, the former lawmaker said he only follows Jesus Christ.

A staunch supporter and loyalist to ex-vice president Atiku Abubakar, Melaye who was a guest on Channels Television’s Politics Today on Friday, said he has an indestructible relationship with the former.

He, however, explained that such a relationship cannot stop him from having his personal ideologies or following his principles about life.

“I have won elections in this country, from the House of Representatives to the Senate; if there is a convergence of ideologies with Atiku Abubakar, it is a fantastic thing. But I am a man of my own,” Melaye said.

Giving instances, the ex-lawmaker said, he is friends with the former Senate president, Bukola Saraki but never supported his presidential ambition.

His words, “Bukola Saraki is my friend and still my friend; he ran for presidency and I didn’t support him and that did not have any negative concomitant effect on our friendship.

“It is greater to be loyal to humanity than to be loyal to your friends because, at the end of the day, it is the people that matter. And I move with the people.
