“This Boy Ran for President, Didn’t Get One Vote” – Wike Mocks Dele Momodu.
Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, has taken a swipe at veteran journalist Dele Momodu, referring to him as a "boy" and claiming he doesn’t even know his name.

Wike made the remark during a media chat on Thursday with select news outlets, in what appeared to be a response to Momodu’s recent criticisms of his political actions.

“I hear there’s this boy, they say he’s a journalist... what’s his name again? He’s big,” Wike said. When a journalist mentioned "Dele Momodu," Wike responded, “Oh, I don’t remember all these names. He was never my friend. He ran for president and didn’t get one vote.”

Momodu, publisher of Ovation International Magazine, had recently argued that Wike couldn't cross over to the All Progressives Congress (APC) without losing his political influence.

Their verbal exchange adds to growing political tensions as 2026 approaches.
