Delta DPO Summoned by Nigerian Police for Allegedly Framing Good Samaritan as Murder Suspect and Extorting Money
The Nigeria Police Force has summoned CSP Christopher Udoh, the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) of GRA Asaba, Delta State, to appear at Police Force Headquarters in Abuja over allegations of framing a good Samaritan as a murder suspect and extorting money from him.
Tomi Akporoghene Wojuola recounted how he rushed a collapsed young man to a hospital in 2025, only for the deceased to die. Instead of being commended, Wojuola was accused of murder, threatened by the DPO, and had his statement taken under caution. Despite intervention from a high-ranking government official, Wojuola alleged that police still extorted his money, leaving him with just ₦2,000.
The police complaints unit confirmed that CSP Udoh will face questioning next week, highlighting ongoing efforts to address misconduct within the force.
