Ondo Women Affairs Commissioner Ordered Arrested Over Alleged Assault on Magistrate
A Magistrate Court in Akure, Ondo State, has ordered the arrest of the state Commissioner for Women Affairs, Mrs. Seun Osamaye, for allegedly assaulting Chief Magistrate Temitope Alphonso. The incident reportedly occurred at the Ministry of Women Affairs during an official engagement.
Magistrate Alphonso claimed that the confrontation followed a prior judgment she delivered against the commissioner. Mrs. Osamaye allegedly verbally abused and physically threatened the magistrate, boasting of her influence and claiming neither the Chief Judge nor the Governor could intervene.
Despite presenting a medical report through her counsel, the court deemed it unsatisfactory and ordered her arrest, remanding her in prison custody. The case was adjourned to January 12, 2026, for further hearing.
