Armed bandits stormed the Parish House of St. Rita Catholic Church, Unity Estate, Mararaba, Nasarawa State, in the early hours of December 30, 2025, injuring two priests. The victims, Rev. Fr. Comas Baye and Rev. Fr. Chris Pever, were rushed to Nativity Catholic Hospital in Abuja, where they are reported to be in stable condition. The Parish Priest narrowly escaped unharmed. The Abuja Grand Commandery of the Knights of St. John International condemned the attack as a barbaric assault on innocent clergy and called for urgent security measures around religious institutions. Authorities have been urged to investigate and apprehend the perpetrators to prevent further incidents amid increasing attacks on places of worship in the region.
