The Ogun State Police Command has revealed that a tyre burst due to excessive speed caused a road accident involving Nigerian-British boxing star Anthony Joshua on the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway. The Lexus SUV carrying Joshua collided with a stationary truck, resulting in the deaths of two team members, Sina Ghami and Latif “Latz” Ayodele. Joshua, who sustained injuries, was rescued and taken to a Sagamu hospital, where he is now stable. Police confirmed that preliminary investigations point to loss of control following the tyre burst. Matchroom Boxing, Joshua’s promotional company, expressed condolences to the families of the deceased and confirmed Joshua remains under observation.
